So I guess the Apollo will be updated and Auto-Tune Live will be released.

Universal Audio Expanded With Apollo Expanded, users of Thunderbolt-equipped Apollo Twin, Apollo DUO, Apollo QUAD, and Apollo 16 audio interfaces can freely combine up to four Apollos and six total UAD-2 devices — adding I/O and DSP as their studio grows. Apollo Expanded also marks the introduction of Console 2.0 software, giving Apollo users dynamic new workflow options, with more than 25 new user-requested features.

I wish they had a 16 input Apollo that was AES-EBU. I would be all over it.

I am pretty sure it is firewire and Adat only for 16 channels. 2 channels of AES-EBU built into it. I want 16.

I wonder if the Console 2.0 works with non-Thunderbolt Apollos, I assume it does, but there's nothing about this at UAD's website that I could find

The Apollo 16 is a really impressive unit, particularly the software console. It is a better design than RME's Totalmix and you get to monitor or print the plugin inserts on the channels strips as well. If I didn't already have two Aurora 16's and two RME AES32 cards and a UAD-2 I would buy this in a heartbeat even though I don't need the preamps. They really did a great job.

I have two UAD 2 cards and two RME 9632 cards and I am still thinking about getting these for dedicated recording chains. And here I said I was getting away from plugins...

ooh, I wonder what the "25+ new features" will be.
also is it odd to anyone else that there are no meters for output levels? Other than the monitor output LED meters.
I guess if I just look at what's happening in my DAW it doesn't really matter, I just wish there was an easy way to make sure my analog outs aren't in the red.

Is windows thunderbolt supported now? If so, I think I'll pick up an Apollo 16

Console 2 will be the gui in all apollo's
You need tbolt to synch up to 6 devices and or any apollo with a twin
If you look a pic top right hand side you see long scale metres like a burl on vertical and extra faders for maybe additional sends: very interesting tomorrow 5:45 livestream est !

So - does this mean I could possibly buy an Apollo Twin and use it with my Apollo Now? It would be really cool to use the Twin as a volume/monitor controller and connect via tbolt. kcatthedog

I'm praying that the 25 new features bring console up to the task of doing live work because I've been dreaming about it for a long time.

JK people run twins and apollo's already, just not offcially supportive and OS's can get screwy so you have to reload.

So it's clear now what UAD is doing, they are about to create a fully hosted system for Native users of any DAW. When you start seeing plugins like Autotune being a hosted UAD option, you know it's not long before all the plugin devs sell rights to UAD. This is great BTW, this makes it so you don't have to go into Avids insanely pricy HD option, and with computers being able to handle massive sessions now natively there will be no reason to. Now, this is strictly Avid I'm speaking of, but the limited I/O support for Protools Native is where they can block this, but, if they are smart they will remove that because it will force people to other programs that do not limit I/O count. This is a positive step, makes me excited.

UA deserves real props here for maintaining their small-company ethic even though they have grown considerably in the last few years. I can't think of another company that has catered to their users wants so readily and thoroughly. Pay attention when UA send you a survey to take. not only do you get $25 to use on a plugin if you like, you are also truthfully influencing their next direction of development.
