You animal. You should add a pair of Tonelux TX5C's for your drum buss now! For now I'm running a pair of Slate Dragons on the drums. Sounds pretty good to my ears. Stick the Dragons on kick and snare with the TX5C's on the drums.

Just ordered from VK, for the 2-bus: Purple Sweet 10 rack Smart C1LA A-Designs EM-PEQ x2 Rupert Neve 542 x2 It's official, I'm Back In The Saddle Again . . . Nice Matt! How are those 542's compared to the Slate VTM plug?

same PCM4222 AD chip, same dual power supply on the dac side, they didn't say what chips they're using on the DA, but they are using 2, i'm not sure the chip config Svarts using on the AD side? The clock in the antelope is probably very good, i don't know a lot about that stuff, i hope C chimes in and tells us what he thinks is going on with the little info they give, you'd think they'd brag up the SN/DR specs on that thing? $2,200!!! It is so cool that C is doing this 8) I got it for $1860 from the FEA Ouch! I use the Burrbrown PCM4222 EVM from TI. I paid $149 for that. The Antelope 32 used National LME49725 low powered opamps. On one I retrofitted LME49722's, lower noise, lower THD.

But I have to say that I have become less satisfied with plugins that generate harmonics other than Decapitator. The clincher occurred when I bypassed the instance of UAD ATR102 on my 2-bus and the mix improved. I guess I am not satisfied at the moment with digital approximations, however close they may be. Plus, I just want to touch knobs. It's an old fetish of mine.

Looks like Apogee AD16's and DA 16's are $999 at Apogees site. Despite their age - I would still dig that setup. What a bargain.

I like the AD16 and DA16, but I like them better with the Big Ben Clock! Or the BLA or Rosendahl.

I bought a mattress. No joke. Found one more than half off on Target's website of all places.
I avoided buying any electronics this year so far.

If anyone needs anything this week, Musician's Friend has 15% off code on their front page for the week for $99 or more orders, and 17% off on $199 orders if you call them on the phone.
A lot of stuff starts to look really appealing at 15% off, I've noticed. Whoops still need to buy some christmas presents!!

Not to mention the 16X can still be used with a Symphony (interface) system with the appropriate card. Or ProToolsHD.
The 16X is about 10 years old now. Any record you've heard using Apogees and HD systems was likely those.
The 16(no X) was a brief moment in time....mainly used in the first round of Nuendo native systems. Correct me if I'm wrong but they maxed at 96k, too, where the Xs went all the way to 192. Not that I care about the quad rate....but, pointing out they're really old. Not the same converter tech. So, yes, there's a difference.
