I too am gonna put it up against my Burl. I have a feeling I will probably like the Burl for most instances because it adds that euphonic, thing...but man, hope I'm wrong. No feeble intended at all, I think there's a place for both. As we've talked about before, there might be a cheaper way to get that heft e.g. CAPI stuff or other color stuff.

these parts, pcm4222's, 1794-a's, ADA4898's, with the isolated power supply's and such, in conjunction with C's serious skills in this field, it's kinda childs play compared to what he deals with normally from what i understand, this thing is going to be put together by an over qualified guy, as a highly accurate/stable, no compromise top tier piece! I'm really fired up for it! For me, i'll put my Vps in front of it for mojo if i feel the urge.

I would love to read a comparison of the Svart secret project and the RM Superbeast. Has anybody who has the Superbeast committed to Svart's DA?

If not, I'd like to make a suggestion. I've committed to both the DA and the AD. What I could do is have it shipped to someone who has a Superbeast, and then once they've done a serious review/comparison they could ship it on to me. Maybe cowboycoalminer if he has the Superbeast by then? Or someone else?

If dandeurloo is up for it? I'll send him mine for the rundown, he's got the SB.

Thank you Dan and Tony, I'm really looking forward to the comparison. I think both boxes will be great. I'm hoping that if the RM AD or DA turns out to be "better" in any meaningful way, Svart can do the technical analysis to figure out why.

difficult decision. I think svart's box will be great and I like the idea of no inline tranni's but the burl b2 sure is a nice piece of gear as you know !

Well as i have the apollo with the bla mod the only thing left is improving the AD and DA, if you want.

The burl is basically 2 grand for AD and another 2 grand for DA, svart's box is around $800 for AD and DA

the transformers on the b2 certainly add a certain presence, but how many transformers in line do you need (want) to do that ( if in your pres and comps have already?)

so svart's design of comparable converters and no tranni's is certainly appealing and any one of us can use it for tracking,mastering and for playback, i.e. his DA is likely flatter and truer than the DA some of us currently use.

I thought I had read that too...We all know I sold mine...and then promptly bought another one for $200 more. It's my business acumen that contributes to my overwhelming success... I think RicFoxx did the exact same thing. It's DEFINITELY one of those things that you don't realize how good it is until it's gone. I remember Cowboy brought his over and we recorded some stuff and I thought..."meh, I hear it, but big deal..." Well, it IS a big deal. Especially running a 2 mix back through it.

1) There's a thread in the DIY section called "Secret Project" that is detailing everything on this build. I'm not sure what the eta is on this, but maybe svart can tell us.

6) He can chime in, but I believe he's an Electrical Engineer by trade and certainly seems to know his shit. This was kind've brought on by people wanting the same quality as the Ross Martin stuff, but didn't want the 6-12 month wait times. I believe this unit will use very similar components as the RM, but Svart can chime in.
