I just feel like a lot of people think he's going to work miracles with the console and have it come out at $800 or something. All the jacks, connectors, metalwork, routing, faders, etc will add up quicker than most people think. We RGO members are a bit more intelligent and understanding than the masses, so I'm probably preaching to the choir.
Either way, I'm interested in what'll come to market.

Oh yes, I'd like to see (and hear) that monster.
Back to the VCA compressor, I don't know of any diy but the SSL ones are great for the money and they have a very nice gate. They are more versatile than the plugins or the consoles as they introduced new features.

The thing is....I'm covered on the bus comp front....which I think all of the ssl clones are geared toward...
I wish Serpent still sold theirs as a 500 series kit....but alas.
In the bigger picture, who cares? We were able to tease a hypothetical new product release out of the esteemed Mr. Steiger....win!

jsteiger i know this is just a "hypothetical" compressor  , but hypothetically speaking, how does the build difficulty rank in comparison to say a vp28? or Lc53A?(completely removing the ease of a vp25 build as comparison, as it couldn't possibly be that easy...right?). I'm making an educated guess that these are going to sound crazy good, and be my main work horses throughout my rig in the near future. also a ballpark price would be awesome? thanx T

Haha. I have no idea about price yet. I will total everything up once I get a few built. The build should be about the same as a VP28 maybe a little harder but not as bad as a Love Child. I plan to start 6 or 8 of them over my holiday break. I doubt I'll finish but I hope I get close. I've got another project I'm trying to get done as well. Busy busy.....
