First impressions of the Tweezers are very favorable. This is probably not a "set and forget" style compressor for me. It's got a VERY wide pallet of tones, and you can get into deep water quickly. Tweezer is a great name for this comp. You can mangle to your hearts content, and then pull back the blend/mix for a nice textural vibe. The metering is cool! The overall workflow feels very comfortable although as mentioned - there is a lot of depth. My only con's - I wish the nomenclature was larger. Impossible to see from 3' away without leaning over - AND putting on glasses. I suppose eventually I'll be going by feel rather than sight. Maybe the younger folks can read it but it's SMALL!!!!!! Quite happy with these. They will definitely be keepers, but it will be awhile before I figure out their sweet spot in my stable of compressor love....50+ channels and counting.... So much compression, so few channels to compress.... <sigh>. Haha! Tweez on! Hey Dr Bill- I was wondering how you’re getting along with your Tweezers a month later. I’m looking to replace my API 2500 with a more “do everything” option…mostly for tracking drums and running busses through, though also tracking piano, strings, etc. Thanks for any insight!

I've been on a long ambient mixing / mastering project, and have not really been using them much. Sorry, nothing more to state than what I said previously. Good luck!

Ive only used my pair on one session so far, but I can echo what DrBill says... Very flexible, lots of sounds to explore. I doubt I'll ever sell mine.

My main concern is how finicky it is to dial two compressors with concentric knobs and lots of options in a tracking session (in the past I’ve struggled with this). I have no doubt I would dig these for mixing. I’m worried it’s a flow killer…but maybe I’d find a couple go-to presets for tracking. On the opposite side of the spectrum is something like the Daking Comp II, which has very few options and ideally would keep things moving.

If that's a problem for ya, I'd suggest LA3a's. The AudioScape ones are supposed to be really great.
