I really like the drums on this. I wonder who Charlie pulled in for that? I can't remember his name... but I know he's from like some latin country. Funny guy too, just can't remember his name. Jerry played the guitars, Dugmore on steel, Larry did all the keyboard stuff.

Really nice work. Sounds very different to a lot of what I'm hearing these days. The vocal ISN'T distorted. the snare drum DOESN'T sound like a thud. The instrumentation is simple and believable and all audible. Full marks all 'round!

Yeah she wanted to keep it open and natural for sure. She was pressured to make it more of the "standard", her response was "why? let's make a new one." She's good for country music, it's been needing someone like her to come along for a while. It holds up good on the radio, I heard it a few times on a couple of stations, actually it's louder and more punchy than what comes on before and after it because of the processing by the stations. Bob Katz would be proud

I like the simulated Linn drum sound in the opening verse. Cool idea and it leaves room for her voice to establish the melody.

ShannonWent great man.... she is so damn good. Got to be in the booth with John when Martina was on and I wanted his freaking gear he had for LIVE in my studio sooooooo bad my god. Had a 33609 on the buss which he was knocking the fuck out of, like 5-6db, used transient designer on all the percussion and instruments and man did he have a tight ass sounding mix, API 312's on everything, dude is a BEAST. Love that guy, saw me in the crowd before the show and yelled me to come back, just a cool dude.
