I didn't see this posted, yet.... some cool stuff:
I for one am particularly excited about the lyric transcription and the new midi/sampling features. Hopefully with Kontakt being a part of PT, Maschine will actually function correctly in it now.

I was just thinking that Avid is probably late on dropping a new Pro Tools build (last one was June) and was wondering what was going on? I think we usually get 3 releases per year (since they went to the year.month cadence)
The lyric/speech to text looks like a cool feature. I hope it can work offline (no internet connection...).

Wow. I guess all the talent really has left Avid. They're just licensing stuff directly from Steinberg now instead of copying their innovations 6 years late like normal.

Bug free and accurate MIDI would be a great upgrade? The rest is rock solid. I can't see myself using any of this "new" stuff.

To be fair, for many years Steinberg copied Avid and introduced many Pro Tools type features into Cubase (something I was thrilled about) Of recent times Steinberg have very much led the pack and Cubase has become an extremely sophisticated app.

YES! It just freaking works. No adjustments required. How? I still have to do it manually and I have the latest update of Studio. Is this Ultimate, only?

Pro Tools is great here and with very few bugs, or no bug at all most of the time.
It's kind of a staple to complain about Pro Tools and all, but it's a solid DAW, with many many features, and adding new ones in a very fast pace for the last years.

If you look on around page 4, I’m asking, “anyone know why I wouldn’t be hearing any latency with HW?” on like page 4…then it skips to this post…so can’t find the eureka moment… realgearonline.com/post/357851/thread

How do you have it hooked up to your computer? Not sure if the Hilo is like an Aurora, but the Aurora will do HW comp if you use a HDX card in the L-SLOT. If it's USB or another connection, manual it is.....Unfortunately, I'm rocking USB.

Not digging the trend of 3rd party intro pack teaser ad hooks. Focus on adding functionality improvements that are simply that.

I don't do anything. It just works in Pro Tools Studio.

2024.10 is available now. I'm downloading but will likely wait a few days (or weeks) to watch if it does anything wonky for others first... it has the Steinberg ARA apps (looks like those have to be downloaded separately)

Pro Tools HW delay comp starting working for me around the same time as Johnkenn . Someone got confirmation from an Avid rep that they fixed it (in that linked thread if I recall).

I also have HW insert delay comp working just fine with a pair of Apollo x8s. Tried it out after seeing a thread Johnkenn made months ago and it's been rock solid ever since. Tempted to just leave my rig alone until it dies.

Or do you mean is there no longer like a 30 sample delay when using aux’s in console?

Bug free and accurate MIDI would be a great upgrade? The rest is rock solid. I can't see myself using any of this "new" stuff. MIDI is more accurate in the new version. They retooled the delay compensation for MIDI and people seem to be digging it. I don't use a ton of MIDI in my work, so I can't really speak to this in any detail, but my colleagues who are more MIDI-centric are psyched. I'll tell you what I absolutely LOVE in the new version: the revamped Import Session Data window. Holy cow, it's awesome. One of those "sleeper features" that makes me do a freakin' backflip every time I use it. 🤓🤣 The new lower dock is cool too. As PT adds more and more ARA and clip-level functionality, I'm psyched to see some options for customizing the workflow and UI here. I gotta respectfully disagree. Pro Tools was loooooooong overdue in adding ARA functionality, and these 'intro packs' expand that functionality really effectively, while also giving users access to some really excellent tools. (guys, I know I'm like a broken record here, but SpectraLayers is freaking AWESOME😂😂). In other words, these "3rd party intro pack teaser ad hooks" actually represent MASSIVE functionality improvements. And bear in mind that Avid isn't developing the specific tools; that duty still falls on the individual developers.

The 3rd party intro pack teasers are crack forcing you to shell out for full functionality. It's a profitable agreement between companies to extract more funds from us. I haven't seen one yet that was of any use to me unless I bought into the full package. If I already have a tool I'm not buying another. Especially software. YMMV
