Dr. Chessparov recommends TUMS for temporary GAS relief.* *"TUMS" Time Understanding Musical Scales. Get an AKG D770 or D790. Still cheap as chips. Chris P.S. Hey I had to find SOME sort of acronym. I realize I'm projecting. New player. New Uke!

If you have a collection of guitar pedals / hi-z gear and want to incorporate them into your mixes the Radial EXTC is a great device.

I added one of these to hit my mic preamp's mic transformers instead of whatever they're using on the balanced line inputs: link

that I can buy to quiet the GAS monster? I hope you're not at the Soyuz even right now (In which case, I would say grab a Launcher). Some of the Universal Audio modeling microphones are pretty cheap, you could probably find one at Guitar Center. The newer dynamic ones might be fun to play around with and keep you occupied for a few days.

I just picked up a Little Labes Redeye. It’s a great DI and remap box all in one. Great purchase.

Ok, this might be dumb but it's cheap and I just got one a few months ago. Cordless screwdriver. Don't know why it took me so long to get one. For just re-racking stuff it's so much better than a drill. And it doubles as a manual screwdriver so you can do the final tightening with the same tool. I love it. There's tons out there but I got this one. shorturl.at/JFMpg

DBX 160X?
Perhaps too much to fly under the radar, but I’d adore a Standard Audio Level-Or

OK pretty cheap but really sexy a bunch of app controlled LED color changing strip lights for the room.
If $300 will slip under the radar there has been a Milab DC96B on the Nashville Facebook market place for ever. Smaller Diaphragm rectanglular caplsule with a dent.
There are 2 Audix SCX1’s on GC’s used page for under 3ea, the electronics are Audis but the SCX 1 capsules are MBHO interchangeable capsules. These fall under if I had $ to spend I would grab them for no other reason than the Audix electronics are slightly shorter than the MBHO.

If you had 8 ch of AES input I would suggest for less than 150, a used Yamaha AD8HR, Yamaha’s best pre’s still used in a lot of famous classical rigs 8 clean pre’s decent AD but only either AES, Ethersound or Cobranet 4 are going to be in the new snake rack plus 1 in the wireless rack. I can only run 32 via cobra net into the DM1000 at a time, but I can either run 24 ch from snake and 8 from WL rack via Cobranet, or 32 from stage using the one in the rack as a remote control.

I have had my hands on the SD-3, SD-5, and SD-7 and they sound good (used them on some records) and the models (via plugin) sound even better. I've been very tempted by the Sphere LX (especially as I see them used for under $500) but had to remind myself that I don't need it right now...

I wanted to give the SM7 looking one a try when it came out. The first one I ordered didn't pass any signal, I tried everything... The replacement one I got had the XLR input loose and hanging out on the mic, I just gave up after that. I'll try again at some point, but that was a horrible start. I am really interested to try a few of the dynamics on toms and kick, maybe snare.

I was tempted (sorely!) to get a Useful Arts Hornet. But the $818 "routine" tire replacement and brake repair today... Well you know the story. I'm ready to sell off my original Soyuz Launcher and Oktava 219 pretty soon though. They ought to go to more "used" homes. Chris

I recently got some Crimson Audio White handles for SM57's and was really happy with them on snare drum top and bottom. I have a couple TAB/Funkenwerk SM57, as well as the Yellow and Orange handles, and for snare the White is my favorite. Seems to be "faster" sounding and a bit more high end detail. A great $58 purchase if you have a SM57 sitting around doing nothing.

I thought that was pretty reasonable for a brake job!
