Honestly I bet the Warm is good for this. Plus if you break it at least it's not a very expensive one. The Warm mini 47 or whatever it is actually isn't that bad! I got a great kick sound on a session with one once. For general kick stuff (I do mostly rock and pop) I like: Beta 91A inside Beyer M88 in the port Fet 47/Royer 121/Soyuz 023 on the outside (whichever is available) I find moving faders with that combo often can yield a great kick sound that will cut through a mix and still sound like a kick drum. Beta 91A provides the attack and thud, the M88 the midrange character, and the outside mic provides the woof.

I've used them a couple of times as a kick mic but I don't think they are well suited. Love them on vox though. For kick I've recently been getting back into my ( long stored ) RE-20.
