This is fantastic for the new generations! Twenty years ago I was wondering why nobody was doing this. I guess the market wasn't ripe back then.

Unbelievable. Gooli has no shame. Warm have already done this cheap scraping the barrel. I’d rather use Acustica plugins any day.

Hmm, a cheap clone that is “inspired”, by a classic circuit, is exactly what?

Alright when’s the recording console coming…. The good news is they figured out to do it for $350 per module. The bad news is shipping the frame is as much as a new Porsche 😁

Hmm, a cheap clone that is “inspired”, by a classic circuit, is exactly what? We kind of copied the transformers, we replaced the inductor EQ with a gyrator version and used a bunch of our private lable version of the TL072 but……. We nailed the look and isn’t that what it’s all about?

It's great news for the home hobbyist (who wants gear that looks cool and doesn't yet know the sound difference vs the real thing). It's not really intended for pro studios, but will end up in a few (at least for a short time) nonetheless. Same as Warm and other inexpensive clones. For me, sometimes it's a placeholder until I can afford - or maybe justify - having the real thing, or a better copy. And sometimes they still work great (even if they sound nothing like the unit they are trying to look like). I have one of the 2A-KT (with a few mods) and I use it quite a bit. I'll bet it sounds nothing like a real LA-2A (and I do not have one to test side by side) but I don't have quite enough clientele right now to justify a $3500 comp so I got this KT for $200.

This is where Audioscape have done something very clever imho. For $1000 you get an LA2A clone that you may well prefer to a UA RI LA2A .... I know I did when I compared them!

Cheap and cheerful. There’s always been a market for cheap and cheerful. Unless Uli sees your "not so positive review" online. And then takes lethal-ahem-legal action on it. LOL! Are those rumors really true? (Now making the popcorn) Chris

Kinda surprising they would do this under the Behringer name instead of KT. Not that it really matters of course. If someone uses this stuff to make cool music, more power to them.
A budget 33609 is pretty tempting to be completely honest. But this does make me wonder about the state of cheaper clone gear. Originally, clones would get you in the sonic ballpark of the original for a fraction of the cost. I kind of wonder if modern clone makers have lost sight of that in favor of marketing gaudy pieces to people who don’t know any better.
Like maybe on the low end, it would actually be better to just stick with boring workhorse stuff like KSM32s, AT condensers, SM7s, etc.

The target market for the MG clones identified with Behringer more than KT and are were more likely to blindly order a Behringer. In other words at the price someone will order it if it says Behringer, but if it says KT I’m going to have to invest time actually selling it.
