Hey John,
Did you see our new Colour modules we just released? I crammed an entire 1176 onto one of those little boards. It does 4:1 and all-buttons-in ratios. I actually was making some sound clips today and put it up against a real 1176LN and it was really darn close considering I left out the transformers and the discrete output amp. Score! I'm pretty pleased with how that little bugger turned out.

The little Suhr 5wt "recording amp" sure looks cool. I didn't go down and demo it because frankly, I need another amp like I need another hole in da head....but, it registered as "if I had to start over and only had one"....it seems to have a really nice tone. And anyone who's played 2-5wt amps, they're plenty fucking loud for playing 3rd and Lindsey....you know? Who's playing big rooms these days? Right? so technically, its just an AMP.  Thanks for the heads up on these amps. Looking great. Checked the dealer list and the one in Sweden is located approx 57 meters from my studio, so def gonna check! |

They look nice! I like the use of the meters. Just wish they had a little more vintage vibe. At $100 cheaper then the rack unit I can give up some ascetic.

Seems like it's been kind of a boring year. Maybe I'm forgetting a bunch of stuff - and maybe it's just usually winter when stuff is announced. I keep waiting for the new "gotta have" interface is coming. I doubt Apogee comes with anything new because they're probably not going to undermine the Symphony for a few more years. I doubt UA will come with anymore hardware for a while. Maybe we've kind've reached the threshold. Cool stuff would be something that makes a sense in terms of working with it. Please not another plug in simulation, or another mic pre. For example true analog synthesis afordable would be intresting..... |
