Funny enough, if everyone was positioned correctly around the mic, you could easily record an entire ensemble with just a Royer SF-12 or any of it's relatives! I've done it a few times, and it was amazing! Here's one example: Artist: Big Bill Morganfield, I was going for a old school blues vibe. Drums Bass 2 x guitars Big Bill on Vocal Was exactly what the doctor ordered! I love it when I can close my eyes and 'look around the room'. Thanks for sharing!!

Closest I’ve come in practice is Samar MF-65. I’d probably pick a figure 8, regardless. So far the Pearl ELM-A is sounding great on pretty much everything.
I’ll take all 635A’s over all SM57’s!

I have a matched pair of the Pearl ELM-B, although not my first choice, for this purpose, they are fabulous on everything~!
