Reddit is shit with ppl who don’t know what they’re talking about spreading their ignorance and misinformation, to a certain extent GS, so glad for this community.
Their up/down vote system allows certain repeat “experts” to come in with their bad takes a farm karma, and if you oppose anything they say, you will be downvoted to oblivion

You should see some of the things people post about stuff like Atmos on the reddit pages. So completely uneducated and talking about it like fact, and it's the first stuff that comes up when people search. I've run into a few really weird/niche problems and started googling around, whenever the reddit pages pop up I get mad really quickly . It's probably the people picking fights on GS, they get run off and found the bottom of the barrel...

If there's something you're not sure about in literally any sphere of life, you could probably search on Reddit and make a reasonably wise decision by just doing the opposite of the consensus. Do you wanna know how to make a great scrambled egg? Search Reddit and do the opposite.

You’ve got to have an original cast iron skillet. The more iron you have between you and the final output the more wide open you can run the heat which creates a more full and rich egg. And don’t get me going on digital coffee.

And don’t get me going on digital coffee. Grounds for dismissal right there. “I pity the Fool”. Says Mr. Tea. Chris

The world of cooking and baking is just about as crazy as music production. You can spend a fortune on a set of professional pots and pans. Mmmmh "pots and pans" .... no bun intended

I love that a lot of good quality recording gear is within reach of most anyone. The problem then becomes that everyone with no skill sets developed think they are the greatest producer/engineer ever. Even worse, they start patreon accounts and dupe the unsuspecting into following their bad advice. I see it all the time. Reddit is probably 90% bad advice. I've voiced a few things there and found it wasn't worth the effort. Like most people here, I am looking for some form of community. Fortunately, John keeps these forums under control. I appreciate all the work that goes into it.

The eggs have a more refined top-end sizzle in the old cast-iron....with the iron from China, you need to apply a de-sizzler...because there is more inherent sizzlance...

I use stainless steel these days, personally.
