For more precision work I've been using the Ozone EQ, but lately I've been really loving the UAD Hittsville Mastering EQ for mid/side. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I realized you could actually use it like that, and you can actually solo bands by holding down the knob. It's a great sounding EQ for mix bus purposes, imo.
What are your favorite plugins or hardware for mid/side?

I've used Softube's Curvebender for this in the past for program material. More recently I'm just using Goodhertz and treating the individual tracks

The Pulsar W495 has M/S options and sounds good. I got it when it was free, but it's $66 bucks right now. It's a 3-band EQ based on Neumann console EQ. I like it quite a bit to add some sparkle to overheads. If you want to get into analog the Bereich03 BAX is super cool.

I've got the Hitsville but have not tried it for that yet. Sometimes I use the BAX EQ (Brainworx/PA) but got the Amek EQ 200 for a project last year and I really like that one too.

Amek EQ 200 is amazing, haven't used the m/s in it before! The Hitsville mastering m/s almost seems like a creative tool when I used it. I was able to take some mixes that had some really heavy stereo weight going on and really bring out the vocal in a way that I haven't done before, without losing any of the tracks overall bottom end. I was surprised with how musical the results were despite how much cutting I did.

Usually I'm doing broad stroke stuff if I'm in M/S, so the PA Knif Soma has been my go to, killer eq for natural sounding M/S.

Luckily one of the plugin watchdogs here posted about it at the time, but I think it's still worth considering buying.

I really want to check out the Wesaudio stuff. In the Zenpro clipalator, I thought their 500 series stuff was just about as good as anything else in there. Hyperion seems like it could be up there with things like the PQ and the Buzz Req. It certainly has a lot of functionality. On the compressor side, I didn't feel like Rhea or Dione were out of their depth against the Unfairchild or SPL Iron. Prometheus also sounded tremendous. Wish they had clips using more eqs considered top of the line. Right now I just use the PA PQ since it held up so well against the Massive Passive at Access Analog. It would definitely be something if the PQ plugin and Hyperion and Prometheus end up holding their own against the real expensive stuff. There's a guy on Youtube who did a comparison with the Soma hardware and PA plugin. The hardware definitely had a bit more fullness to it, but it wasn't like compressors and saturators I've heard where the plugin is maybe 40-50% there. Eqs might be much easier to accurately model if they're reasonably clean. The Curve Bender on the other hand, is a case where the hardware is very different. A guy on Youtube added other plugins to try and match the hardware and while it got closer, it was still missing a decent amount.

The Michelangelo plugin deserves mention. M/S with transient/body and saturation controls, all tuned in a really musical way.

I really want to check out the Wesaudio stuff. I just got a pair of NG76s and a Rhea. They sound excellent in limited testing on a previous mix, and plugin control is a beautiful thing. I'm already looking at a Titan so I can have single-cable control over Ethernet for any of their 500 series boxes, and of course, to fill the thing up!

Perhaps in the next month or two I may be in a position to start a Titan. Have you been able to compare them to some other compressors? What's your take on the Zenpro Clipalator files if you've heard them?
