Audient Sono - desktop interface with a built-in guitar preamp and DSP that runs Torpedo power amp/cab sims, used as a headphone rig with my Synergy SYN1 preamp
(5) Community RS220 - 3-way cabinets, increased the existing inventory to 12 cabs to cover an in the round gig
(2) Kali Audio IN-8 V2 - 3-way powered monitors, added as alternates with an eye to add 5.2 more
Tegeler Creme - bus compressor & master EQ, added to the multi-bus processing mix
Tegeler Magnetismus 2 - stereo VCA comp & transient shaper, was intended for percussion bus but may see just as much use in tracking

If you find the release times too slow on the 54F50's you can swap a few resistors and get them to 100ms, 200ms, and 400ms which is a pretty common "mod" for the original 2254's (I think all of the BAE racked modules have those release times)

After getting the long-on-my-wishlist AMS Neve 1081's in the AMS rack I stayed quiet, a Keeley Bass comp pedal, a Dunlop Wah, and a windscreen for my M88 were the only added hardware.
Sold some gear and more will likely go, have way too much stuff for the work I'm doing now. I thought I'd regret it but the random handfulls of extra cash is nice.
However, software purchases, upgrades, subscriptions were a lot this year...

All and all I think I'll be buying a new guitar next year and hopefully a Wurlitzer. Still have my eye on a Sony 800G and Neumann M49 otherwise I think I've been through Pretty much all the mics you could imagine. I mean I haven't owned a 251 but that's just way above my level.
On a side note I've been using my fet mics lately and it's so nice to just fire on the preamp and go and it's hard to go wrong with a Km86 and a U87 vintage.

Having turned 60 this year and having way more gear than seems sensible, I tried to be good and actually put my usual studio budget into a savings account .... how crazy is that! But I still ended up buying, Nord Electro 6 HP (stand and Nord gig bag) Pro built 13900K PC Workstation for Cubase 13 Audioscape OPTO Comp (love this thing) Clarity M desktop AES/USB Meter New monitors for my writing/ rehearsal room And about 10 x $100 purchases of various "studio things" .... which adds up! So it ended up being expensive as my PC Workstation wasn't cheap but will hopefully last a very long time. Next year I truly have to be a good boy. But it won't help of course, as my wife will notice I have extra money and will just book an extra holiday - good job I adore Mrs Tenor  |
