Oh nice, you ended up with one of the V24’s! It paired extremely well with my Coil preamps when I had it here, I bet it will rock with that Locomotive Audio compressor in the chain!

I haven’t gotten to use the V24 with the 14B yet! But yeah I bet that would be awesome!
The V24 was used on overheads last week and sounded amazing in the “12” mode through the API console, only eq move was a 2db cut at 600 with the 550A! I’m looking forward to using the mic more with both the Wunder preamps and my Audioscape G58!

That I can remember…
Home: RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE Neumann KH150’s Audeze LCD-5
Studio: Avid HDX card Neumann KH310’s Chandler REDD Microphone pair Upton 251 AKG C34 AKG C422 Royer SF12 Josephson e22s pair Retro Sta Level BAE 1073 Summit Audio EQP200 Vintage King rack for my 1064’s High Voltage Audio EQ6S
Instruments: Mellotron M4000D ARP Solina Gibson J45 Standard Gibson Les Paul Classic Fender American Standard Stratocaster Gretsch BST-1000 Epiphone Serenader 12 String Fender Champ Handwired Ampeg B15N Slingerland 14” Pink Oyster floor tom (matches my kit took me 5 years to find one!)
I think that’s all the big stuff, many cheaper mics and accessories and plug-ins for sure though.
Still got my eye on several things for 2024, I think a better Hammond for the studio being the highest priority (A100, B3, or C3) and as much as I hate it maybe a Hear Back Pro system…sometimes 6 “more me” just isn’t enough…musicians have just gotten too used to making their own mix instead everyone listening to the same thing and playing together (what a funny concept, right!)

I took the OP to mean hardware only, so…
Behringer Pro 600 Some additional balanced cables.
…and I think that’s it. Lowest total for hardware since I started buying more in 2020. That said, this has been my year “off” for recording for the most part.
There’s definitely gear that I want to add in 2024 but I keep telling myself that I’m not allowed until I get to the next level on room treatment, because the room will color everything anyway.

I took the OP to mean hardware only, so… You took me correctly, although plugs are OK too, if that's your main thing.

Not sure what all was this year and last year, honestly.
Pretty sure the main things for me was a Beesneez BU67 and a Yamaha YC 73. I bought a few other mics last year, and some Neumann monitors and some Weight Tank preamps. Several plugins. Oh, and a pair of LCD-X headphones.

Well the 1991 Yamaha c7 grand piano was the biggest thing… the quartet of Lauten LS308s are a massively great tool on toms, Derek’s Vanguard V44s mk 2 was like a gift. Amazing stereo mic
There were a thousand other things but those were my ‘wow’ items

I need to get one of those Vanguard mics.
I think I'm gonna take the 48 month financing and try the Lautin Snare Mic. I've got a young drummer in during January and the hat rejection might be necessary.

So I'll post and also see if I can use that PostImage thing properly.. As mentioned in the "Latest Gear" thread I've gone from mixing with an analog desk to hybrid. 56 I/o (Avid), new custom made desk. Sold a lot and then got a new Mac mini M2, a 43" screen, Avid controllers, four UAD octo satellites, three Chandler RS660 and Sonic Farm Creamliner and Xcalibur. Also a 2nd Chandler REDD47 and an AnalogueTube AT-1. Have mixed two albums already. First was a beautiful classic jazz/evergreen album with piano, string ensemble and vocal, everything recorded simultaneously, not much processing, so kind of easy start. The second was jazz quintet including drums and I realized how used I am with my old desk and really had to work and experiment to get the sound I'm used to. But I have to say already that this hybrid way is so fun! Much easier to try new stuff and experiment, so I'm really stoked for 2024 and on!

Just pulled the plug on a UA Ruby.
UA got a ton of my money this year.
Cheers, Geoff
