I bought my Gates SA70 clone from a guy in Chicago, wonder if they have a new DIY clone scene there? While this looks really awesome, in this particular case I'd just go buy the 4ch real deal EmRR is selling instead

A lot of this stuff appears to be DIY gear being sold, nothing wrong with it if you have a decent tech.

I heard it's killer. Especially the Mount Cyanide Tablets.

Shure transformers. Wow. Bizarre. Downgrade all around. Different color for sure. Not sure why you'd DIY this one, raw module originals are still cheap enough. The sound is mainly the transformers.

Alright my friend you have done enough restorations and corrected enough bad ones to know the “ good friends factor “, you know the guys who won’t upset the ego by telling them it “sucks “. We have all been there, that place in time where you have to come up with something nice to say about a piece someone you genuinely like probably shouldn’t be building gear, but is. Now for those of us caught in this mind field the legalization of weed and fast acting gummies have made it much easier. Of course some of us do have a reputation to uphold and if we can look at the guys from some of the biggest manufacturers in the business the truth we can tell just about any one how we really feel, ? ( Matt, Berd & Bill and Mark from Samara this should add weight to the compliment s).😎

Lots of 500 series pres with ic based 2520 foot print Opamps. They do hit a price point.

It would be cool to see this thread grow into a directory of sorts for these off the grid, Reverb/Etsy/ebay builders. Thanks. That's my intention. All kinds of oddities out there that need to be brought forward. Kind of like the idea behind Stumbleupon.com

Are they available? I can't seem to find a purchase button on the product page. But they have a manual, videos and a description. So it seems like it's in production. Didn't seem to be able to find it on their web shop either. And, it's got a magic eye!! I love magic eyes so much I ended up purchasing a couple little standalone magic eye doohickeys to watch Signal levels. Nothing more fun than a dark room and a couple of magic eyes feeding off of synth swells on the stereo bus. If I added a bit of Echorec things will get pretty spacy.

it's available from Thomann for example, probably elsewhere. 2K. Balanced I/O, one CV input for speed IIRC, some new non-destructive functions... I want two...

I haven't ordered from Thomann to US although I've ordered plenty of goodies directly from the developers. I was hoping Echorec would be available direct from TRex since they have a Web shop where they sell all their stuff (welp, seems all their stuff except Echorec that is). Hopefully I can hunt down a US seller (and avoid those customs fees in the meantime).

The Periscope microphones with their built in compression are totally nuts but sound fantastic in a mix. I can’t live without them now.

I’m excited about the arrival of mine with the +/- 20% speed control with drums! That’s why I sold my original tube PE603 it was annoying with the timing but sounded great.

I had one of those. I thought maybe I'd be able to use the effects loop for re-amping, more like a Radial EXTC, but that's not really what's intended for. It's really an effects loop that is meant to be part of your recording chain. Anyway, I never really used it and sold it. it is a decent API-ish flavored preamp though. nice filters too.

Meris is a high-end FX pedal builder. Some of the guys who helped start Line 6 years ago. So, it makes sense that they'd see plugging their FX pedals into an effects loop very useful. Kind of a cool design IMO, if I actually used 500 series.

Most of the price of something is usually the transformers and boards, but they are selling it full retail. What gets me is some of these circuits these no names are building and selling have royalties you pay and I can tell they didn't do anything special.
So there will be some more lawsuits API will do in the future.
CAPRI pays for the licensing they sell on products and API dictates what and how they sell it.
