I’m gonna grab that Fuse LA-4 style plug. I really dug that when I demo’d it. hmm … still trying to find a replacement for the waves cla3a which did something to the sound i really liked on guitars. it tightened the bass and pushed the mids forward. i demoed the fuse la-4 and it didnt do the same thing. maybe because its no la3a. but it was long ago. how do you finde the fuse one?

I still use both. The UAD/UADx version has a "mix" that CLA-3a does not have (or at least not in the version I have - looks like they may have added it since. I have v12 or 13 I think)

Anyone know how long the UAD 2 plugs $99 sale will go on for? The sale is for native, not UAD's DSP, but I figured this might be a good way to get the Sound City plug without over-spending on something I may never use. Since I do use the Ocean Way plug a lot as just a room reverb, I'm thinking I might like the Sound City room better.

I'm kinda surprised that McDSP is still relevant today. It still sounds good.

Plugindiscounts server just took a dive. Right as I was pawing at UAD Signature. Maybe it’s a sign.

Back up. Maybe THAT’S a sign.
There are a handful of UAD plug-ins I actually really want. But that Signature bundle is like $6/plug-in. And it’s not like I know I don’t want a bunch of them, it’s that I haven’t had time to try them all. Hmm.

Theyre really inexpensive which has me wondering about their quality. Who knows, they might be ok. A few metering, spectral doodads etc. might be worth the small splurge for me. Cheers, Geoff

I’m so confused with this UA stuff…now I see a pick two for $99. Which all I really need is capitol comp and maybe one more and I could cancel spark. Guess it’s cool to have the Leslie and a couple others…but I honestly never use them. I guess that’s probably the best deal for me considering I have the large majority of what’s in the producer packs.

The best price I found was at Plugindiscounts.com No sales tax, which is huge for me in Tennessee. It was cheaper for me to buy the total bundle from them over upgrading Pro-Q 3 and Pro-MB from FabFilter’s site. I buy a lot from them…instant license transfer

I get the sense the SC plug would sit without much use from me….I don’t even know. I could replace the cap comp on my master channel…and just live with what I’ve got.

Yeah, might not end up seeing a ton of use from me either, but I kinda feel like it will actually make it into the workflow for me. But I’m in a very specific spot - recording myself in a small, dead room. SC feels like something I could wrangle into some cool/useable ambience, in ways that differ from what I do with ‘normal’ reverbs. For the rest of that Signature bundle…I don’t have any of it, so pretty huge bang for the buck. I know I want stuff like the Fairchild, Massive Passive, API2500, Distressor, Dimension D, Pure Plate…and will for sure use the 1176, LA2a, Pultec and several others. It’s like $6 a plug-in, pretty dang tempting.

If I had not already purchased the UAD Softube CL1b Mkii, that would have been one of the two for $99 (and actually less with the $25 coupon that I have in my account, and likely many others do as well.)
Ragan - you might want to consider some of the Neve plugs, 1073, 1084, etc.
I am tempted to get this two for $99 offer in order to get the Capitol Mastering Compressor, I am just having trouble figuring out the second plug.
Any thoughts of the UAD plugs that are the most important?

Capitol Chambers is sweet and the Hitsville chambers too. I've used the Waterfall Rotary on a few guitars lately and it's cool too

I just spent two full days testing SCS…..and the other plugs in the signature bundle…..that I didn’t own….. SCS is as good as the Bricasti as ONE studio if…..IF you use it in reverb mode…….i found remic mode practically useless…..also it’s not a click and use …..it required me to spend a bit of time to learn how to dial it in ….but when done it’s certainly worth getting in that 2 for 99 offer as is the Capitol compressor. i ended up ponying up for the signature bundle which gave me ravel piano, moog instruments and a heap of things I don't own ….and far too many that I do 8(…… but seemed the best path at this point there are some killer deals if you don’t own anything cheers Wiz

Anyone compared Sound City to Inspirata? I got the Professional Inspirata during its half off World Listening Day sale. Then less than two weeks later they put all Inspirata editions on sale for $100. No one there got back to me when I asked about matching the $100 sale price considering how quickly they put it up for that price after the WLD sale. Now it's $100 for Personal and $199 for Professional. It wouldn't surprise me if they mark it down to $100 again soon or go even lower. People across the forums claim it's the closest plugin to Bricasti quality. It reminded me more of what the Access Analog Bricasti sounded like than most anything else.
