This is nightmare fuel for me. This is a LIVING nightmare! So many clubs so often I have walked into this nightmare. All you need to make it a cliche is 2 C1000’s and a D112, and to make it worse one of C1000’s has that little piece of plastic that changes the pattern jammed in, or 2 C3000’s upside down using the tiny second element that makes it Hypercardiod. Unfortunately yes I have lived these nightmares. HA! I still have the O.G. 1988 D112 and pair of C1000s - and only one has the hyper-cardioid adapter. LOL This is too funny. Add 3-4 57s and that was how I recorded drums . . . 22 years old.

I would if I felt I could. Peer pressure, man. I feel you! Hey, we have a whole subform here devoted to peer pressure, I mean bourbon. That explains a lot. No wonder I have never clicked on that forum....

Every single one I used scared the hell out of me and if I may be so bold I don’t scar easily.

I can't remember if I sold the D112 that was at the studio I bought out, or just said to not include it the list of gear I was buying. We didn't C1000 or C3000 but I had friends with home studios who did.

The live sound comments just gave me a flashback.
Kick: D112 Snare: SM57 Toms: md504's (x3) Cymbals captured as bleed from 2 SM58's being used as vocal microphones.
I've had the (dis)honor of giving the band's a board mix like that before, after trying to warn him that we were in a dive bar, this mackie (or yamaha?) literally doesn't have enough sends or outs to accommodate something more without sacrificing one of the shared monitor sends, etc.
Modern prices/models D112: 200 Sm57: 100 E604 3-Pack: 400 Sm58s: 200
7 Mics 900 Dollars

GAP R1 stereo ribbon (599usd) as overhead and Sennheiser e602 II (149usd) on kick, will set you back hardly anything at 748usd total, and you will actually have a great drum sound having people ask what you recorded it with. With a good drummer this would be a setup I could throw on the table when someone want's classy sounding drums that sounds expensive

I'm REALLY hoping that with 8 H251's I have the lowest score.... I suspect Ward or paulcheeba will be closely following for second to last place.....
