For those of you building this project just wanted to let up guys know that not only are Chunger and Matador's PSUs coming along handily but they also have U47 shock mounts about to get on the boat with some other components. Could be 6 weeks before they get here, but I promise they'll be way cheaper than what's avaiable now.

SInce I can't afford any part of this build, I'll sit back and enjoy the show. I can't wait to hear how these sound. That looks fantastic kcat.

Cool.
Anyone know how it sounds when compared to Oliver Archut's BV8 design?

Cool. Anyone know how it sounds when compared to Oliver Archut's BV8 design? ...yeah, well that's kinda a loaded question, particularly when you consider AMI offers more than a few variations (BV8R, BV8N, BV8LP, T47, new "Classic Series" BV8, etc)...all variations on a theme (comments I hear often refer to the larger versions delivering more low end response)...no losers in the bunch, I would expect... ...IMHO, they are all very good options, limited only by personal preference...

"feels good, like I knew that it would !!" I had to use Max's plastic bolt for the cap mount cut off about 1 ct and used one spacer, took top off to insert bolt and to tighten it btw if you get thiersch cap , they have the back marked on them and wiring is simple front to front, side to side and back to back now where is that diy psu ?? Its on the outside edge in black hand written script by Herr Thiersch. So, easy to see before install or remove cap from mount ! or send your psu here so I can develop a deeper personal appreciation for your diy skills !

if u r sittin on the fence about this ?
get ready to jump !!
there are about 14 kits left but now MAX has some Thiersch Blue caps as well, so you can order the complete kit (no cable and psu) from Max directly for 1199 euros
it is difficult to get the caps independently
ok I done my good deed !

The numbers were there to match the mics to the power supplies during the builds. I just badged all the mics and the numbers are gone. I know it's frowned on, with Neumann N.O.S. purple badges.
Yes, I bought it in 1980. Serial number 3X, could be the lowest number in existence. The plastic nut that holds the binder connector in the orginal power supply broke, so I removed the connector. Looking for another one (Neumann doesn't have one). When I get it together I'll do a comparsion.
