I have Keyscape, but I may have to consider the Electra. It sounds good, and I like how UA has been voicing some of their takes on old instruments like the Rhodes and B3. They seem to have a more rock n roll vibe and are a little less polite, which is what I prefer.
The compressor has a nice "glow" that it adds to the tone. I like it.

I like the compressor a lot. As to the Electra 88 - I just want it to sound like a REAL Rhodes, because that is what I used, and so far I do not hear it sounding like a real one. (Maybe I am hearing the wrong presets or something else.)

Gonna try both a little later. Thought they both sounded pretty fantastic from the demos. I use a rhodes about twice every year...but damn it's cool. I've got Keyscape too, but man, I find myself gravitating away from it.

Even if I fully transitioned away from Keyscape to the Electra for Rhodes duties, I'd still keep Keyscape around for the other instruments like the various pianos, Wurli, etc.

Looks real cool. Did Ian “Magic Death Eye” Sefchick work on the hardware?

I haven't bought it yet, but I love Pianoteq. Honestly, the XLN Audio Pianos and the free Ravel light one sound really good too. Also don't care for the tack sound on the upright in KS.

I tried the Mastering Compressor on the drum buss and it's great! Yeah - just tried this on the master in M/S with some tweaks (lower ratio, more output on both mid and side, raising the mono fold down) and it's bigger and wider than either the 2500 or the Manley I usually use to knock off a few db's on the master. Yet more money I have to spend.

Yet more money I have to spend. This really gels stuff in without a lot of hair. The examples UAD picked are very good. The Magic Death Eye Stereo plug I remember being overall cleaner but coloring the low end more. Also try psp Oldtimer me, neold u73v76 on linear with adjustable distortion or modifying the mjuc vintage limiter preset with hq on and paying attention to the gainstaging of the plugin. Maybe even switching it to compress. Sometimes one can be extremely transparent or gel with the mix more than others based on the tone with maybe eq after so it’s worth having a bunch of these old tube limiter plugs because they’re pretty cheap and cool. The action on transients of a db or two is usually pretty transparent so it’s all about matching or complimenting timbre of the plug. Luckily they’re stable unlike tube hardware where you get into tube rolling and stereo matching and all hell happens.

The electra didn't really strike me as much. As in - I don't hear a ton of diff from Keyscape. I mean - it's killer...but how often do I reach for a Rhodes?

Just demoing the compressor..... it sounds really good....I like the MS mode....
Tried the Mellow preset and switched to MS mode, and the Low mono thingy about 50Hz, and saturation on about 1/4 and adjust volumes to taste... and its sounds really great.. with nice depth, compared to the standard UAD SSL Gbuss I use...
cheers

The Rhodes sounds good but I don't think it sounds as good as Keyscape. I think the electric pianos are Keyscape's biggest strength, though I'm a fan of all of it.

Looks real cool. Did Ian “Magic Death Eye” Sefchick work on the hardware? Ian did indeed design this compressor. Just updated his website about it. Its not the same as the MDE though which is closer to a fair child. The capitol compressor is hilariously more like a UA175. Can read about it on his site. magicdeatheye.com/Pretty cool.

They do have an odd way of picking people out for preferential treatment - I've spend multiple $1000's on UAD plugins and hardware, which seems to mean nothing to UA.

Anybody compared the Electra 88 to the Rhodes V8?
Given that it's Rhodes themselves that put out the V8 plugin, it seems like I haven't heard as much chatter about the V8 as I might have expected.

Here’s another Rhodes I can recommend. I subscribed to Keyboard Magazine and read about this particular instrument that I had heard on many of my favourite albums so playing this plug now is special.. I agree with many in the thread that Keyscape is great too. Not sure though that any other do the fatter Richard Tee vibe as good as the Electra. I’ll have to demo this..😊 www.orangetreesamples.com/products/the-famous-e-electric-piano
