There are dip switches on the inside that adjust the filtering of the capsule. So you have 4 choices OG 67 Reissue 67 OG 269 Modern 269 And I think he might’ve made it even quieter in the self noise department…, Thanks!, So what tube is in the MK2 version, and was the Mk2 new for NAMM 23 or has Mk2 been out awhile? Same tube as Mk1 (ef86) Not sure but I think this was new for NAMM

Everybody in the stills photography world is sick of the video guys, but video is kind of the only growing market right now, so that's what manufacturers are making, and that's where the technological advances are happening the most right now. It's funny because at some point in the past, it felt like manufacturers were so underplaying the video capabilities of their prosumer/consumer bodies. Video was just an after-thought so you could add it as a bullet point. Now, I see mirror-less ads that would make you think the exact opposite: "Oh yeah, I guess it does stills too."
Great to hear about NAB though. It never felt that congested to begin with (compared to some other shows) and it was always really cool seeing some of the tech in-use and in-person.

also if i am not mistaken is the body slightly longer? I was talking to Ben prior when i was looking to mod my mk67 and he mentioned he was working on a new body So am I. Chris

Chris P.S. On Ben's website it says "Brimar/Mullard" for the EF86. Hi guys. Just an fyi too. The tube is a Brimar cv5001 it was designed by Brimar to be a perfected version of the EF86. They accomplished this by moving the grids further away from the filament and thus reducing noise. This also meant changing the pin configuration. This tube is an amazing tube! I honestly feel that this tube is very special and has helped us greatly to achieve the sonic footprint of the B67/269 MK1 and 2. The Old and new switch in the MK2 will also knock your socks off. It gives you the choice of the old school vintage mic or the brand new just made yesterday but still awesome sound! Thanks all for dropping by and visiting us at NAMM!!!!

DPReview recently went to Japan to interview every major camera company about its plans and what they were willing to discuss as their roadmaps. There were many good takeaways, but this paragraph addresses what we're saying here the most succinctly:

Nikon and Olympus got burned in the early days of consumer video, Pentex and Minolta bet on proprietary formats and lost big. Cannon established its self as the True Semi Pro brand. Of course they are chasing the hybrid shooters the bread and butter basic point and shoot is your phone. Red and Blackmagic really gave the old big boys a run for their money, buts still mostly the same old Names at the top.

The biggest fight is between Canon and Sony. Blackmagic is kind of doing their own thing, and has a well-earned rabid fanbase all its own. The Sony Venice system is probably the biggest difference maker in the past 3-4 years in the mid-major market. I still prefer Canon colors, though. For me, it's Arri > RED > Canon > Sony. If a RED made financial sense for me, I'd jump on it, but it doesn't really.
