I'm curious if there will be other changes within the Sound Toys bundle upgrade. I see they are advertising job openings for developers and marketing. Hopefully everyone won't forget about them due to lack of releases and updates. Still love their products here.

Do these things actually work? I've heard about them, but never looked into them very hard. The analog Bag End very effective, but DSP equals latency so these probably don’t. It was a big question when Bag end was developing there’s, and why when Meyer developed the servo like control system for the X15 studio monitor, but in both cases they figured out digital means latency and that just means the very percice corrections are made to late to actually solve the problem in real time. I think the DSP here is just for remote control via the app. The treatment would stay fully done via analog circuitry, and this time with a smaller membrane. They say that the new one can, in some condition, beat the old one in term of absorption. Avaa C20 are bigger and traps bass like a passive system 25 times its size. The new Avaa C214 is smaller than the C20 and is said to trap bass like a passive system 45 times its size. Crazy numbers... The C20 is fully analog, that's a certainty ; no definitive infos about the new one. And to answer Quint, yes Avaa do work and are quite magical (with the price tag that come with them, they better work). PSI are no joke. |

Wow, the Myburgh... Another missile. - - - - - - Handsome audio now have a Zulu in rack 500 format ! For now you can see it via Handsome audio's Facebook story. More infos to come ! Spoiler : it's cute ! Hmmm... I wonder if Langston will take the profits from the sale of the 500 series Zulu and pay all of the people back that he screwed on the Zulu rack/Juju debacle. If the FB story you're referring to is the short video he has posted with "Goals" shown at the beginning and then hinting at a 500 series product, that might as well be vaporware, considering his history. Or is there an actual product to look at? I can't imagine he would try the whole preorder thing again, at least I hope not. He has the 500 module in hand, it's real (this time). |

Maybe not quite a report, but maybe impressions (Paging Rich Little  ) Might be able to do a sort of Post-NAMM vocal mic shootout. Not sure yet if/when though. Probably smart to include spoken word. And raw vocals. Will know more this weekend... Chris Some Microphone Booths are set up. Some not. (I would have liked to finally try Vanguard for example) Cool to see Wes Dooley/AEA. Along with Ben Sneesby, with his family from Queensland. Chris P.S. Arrived after work. Was able to spend an hour around the Booths. |

Further Postscript.
Particularly for those who visited NAMM Pre-Pandemic era....
Not quite up to 2020 and before, in terms of general energy level overall.
And also in the North ACC Room, that had a mix of Microphone Booths, with related audio systems. Except for a Pizza place, all the next door Hilton Food Court places closed at 6PM! (The ultimate litmus)
I expect 2024 Winter NAMM to better resemble NAMM's of Yore.
