I tried both. Curve Bender had a cool box tone, though I didn't love the EQ points. Midrange sounded good, lows and highs were okay.
The CEQ sounded spectacular, but I did not like the ergonomics or design. In theory, not having labels is a good idea ("use your ears not your eyes"). In practice, it felt unnecessarily difficult.
Also, Chandler Customer service is top notch. Can't say I had a great experience dealing with Terry...
I would recommend a pair of MIAD LCPQ 4040 EQs. Spectacular sound and phenomenal customer service.

I find the lack of verification of what I would do with the terry eq very off-putting.
I understand the design philosophy and reviews of sound are good… but I depend on language not just opinion on what I’m hearing (working with).

Being an early adopter of Miad’s I have been very happy with them as a best of all worlds in terms of power and character.

Anybody have the good fortune of getting to try both? What did you find about each? I don't think I could get beyond the Terry CEQ "6 year old crayon" interface. I know it comes down to sound - but still .... I find it very off putting. |

I've been more than vocal about the look of the Terry, but to be fair I seem to remember that there's also a "normies" version available, or am I dreaming?

As a Miad owner, and 2055 owner, I didn't even bother to click on this thread until I got bored this morning.  . Haha! Missed the fun. I can definitely add a "+1" to the Miad comments. Totally top notch, wonderful tone, and killer sounding. If I was doing it all over again (and I might add another pair someday) I'd opt for the +/- 6 version. Wonderful EQ's that have been on every mix I've done in the last 5-ish years. Don't hesitate on a Miad if it suits you. |

The Miad has a little less "control" (no continuously variable Q and Freq's in the mids as the 2055 has, and less boost/cut amounts) but more "tone" and the Freq's are well chosen. The Miad just gets me there faster, and gets me the vibey tone I want. If you're looking for a "problem solver" the 2055 might be a better call. If you're looking for a very capable 2 buss EQ with tone, the Miad is it for me. |

Vibey and still great with a some less features - the Iron Age V2. It's simplicity is actually part of its genius including well picked frequencies and super great tone. And two channels. Maybe Iron Age will add another band or two and take over the pro eq market!

Hi, The EQs are all hand-built and some times there is waiting time. The reason there's not a "buy now" option is because I want to avoid a situation where someone makes a purchase only to find out that he has to wait until the EQs are ready. Therefore, I always let people know in advance about the waiting time. At the moment I'm full-filling the current orders and I always try to have some extra stock but sometimes this is not possible. Having said that, at the moment there is a bit of extra stock but this might change at any point. Hope this makes sense?
