If this is true, it’s David’s story to tell should he choose to, not some random YouTuber. That felt like some disingenuous bad acting to me. “Look how red my face is…” 🤦🏻♂️

Whether they bought him out and did a severance deal or in the original contract, I would guess that included a Non-Disclosure Agreement and non disparagement clause so David wouldn't be able to tell whatever his story is I would guess.

Taking from what I've heard from better sources, there's nothing untrue said in the video. Apart from the "oh man, I'm so mad, oh man", of course.
And I do agree that the delivery of the "YouTuber" made it very hard to watch.

I lived by UA headquarters for many years. All I had to do was look at the building and I knew 100% without a doubt, it’s a giant corporate pos. Sadly I had a favorable impression of them before I saw their HQ. The UA2192’s were pretty nice, the 76 reissues etc, all desirable. Until I saw their HQ.. just another Silicon Valley money grab, clear as day. (Apollo.. dreaming of Apple money to the moon) And just can’t stand them. Sorry all It's kind of funny to me that people think otherwise of UA. I mean, I use and like the products, but it's not because the company is different from the "evil Silicon Valley money grabbers". Anyway, I'm still drinking coke as well, so... |

I have no idea if this is true or not, but that guy in that video, like many other youtubers (remoras) who seek out "likes and subscribes" based on living in an ecosystem in and around a particular manufacturer (UA, Mac, etc.), tend to drum up controversy and/or speculative theories because it gets them more clicks. So I'm taking everything being said in that video with a HUGE grain of salt. Notice the "?" after the word "care"? That "?" is no accident. And, oh brother, with the VO voice... When someone is actually angry, they don't talk in a VO voice or make sure at the end of the video to say "leave a comment". This is no different than Barry Johns, who similarly swims around in UA waters, looking for clicks wherever he can get them. I dislike all of these kind of videos and wish the monetization structure at YouTube didn't reward this sort of stuff, but here we are. And to be clear, UA regularly pisses me off, but this is just click bait, regardless of whether or not any of this is actually true. In my experience, if you hear any company say “we’re family” - you should run for the hills. I would just assume that UA most likely bought David Nick’s company and IP…so I doubt the guy is destitute. Hey - I could be wrong, though. I just can’t imagine he is walking away with nothing. |

If you don’t like a company, you don’t have to buy from it. to repair some pieces now, you unfortunately have to buy Behringer if you don’t want to cannibalize gear because they make the only knockoffs of some discontinued chips |

And I believe has a good heart. But... If it were me, I'd definitely run this by David Bock first, before being "this Public" about it. Maybe Mark N. did this, realistically I doubt it though. 40+ years ago, when I worked in a Home Loan division, I spoke to a couple of co-workers at our office... About a famous Sportscaster, being behind on his payments. He had just walked in and I couldn't see him. He heard me!! (I was lucky they didn't can my a**!) Very nice man BTW. Learned my lesson that less is more sometimes. Chris P.S. AFAIK Mark has/is doing well $$ in VO already BTW. I think that Channel is primarily a "communication" Channel, for what he's personally interested in. |

And if you don't like a company, you also can still buy from them. While true, I can't imagine what kind of compromises have to be overlooked to actually do this. It would be completely void of self respect to do so. What we can do and what we should do is reflective of our self worth and how we view the world around us
If I do not like how a company operates, it is entirely illogical to then turn around and buy from them. The longer I do this, the more I take into account who I buy from in equal measure to what I'm buying from them. I don't give a shit what anyone thinks I'm missing out on, I would rather remain tethered to my values. With so much of just getting through the day compelling us to give money to companies that are in direct conflict with own best interests, the things and who we do have choice on whether to buy from or not becomes a far more profound opportunity to align with one's own strength of character, or lack of.

Maybe what I'm hearing is just a voice actor being a bit dramatic which I could understand if that's what you do for a living it may be hard to turn off. Having said that though, unless he knows David personally and David asked him to do this, this just feels really wrong to air out a private medical matter like this.
