Did this last year,...So just for fun while I wait for the annual RGO tech awards someday, what was your favorite piece of Hardware/Software you bought in 2022?
Mine was a IGS Tubecore 3U & Neumann NDH30 open backs for hardware, and Ozone 10 Advanced for software.

This is going to sound so anti me but really honestly the Rack full of Stewart 2.1’s & one 1.6 that gives me just under 10k what’s off of 20 amps 120v for live with DSP. Oh and developing my 15 amp DSP limiter settings, not worrying about live taps or throwing breakers price less. Oh and for some reason after seeing the 10 spaces of power being rolled down the hall non of my neighbors seam to produce high spl, and if they do I have permission to set up in front of their door in 5 min intervals from the building owner and manager!

AudioScape D-Conp. No question. I have many analog comps, but this really touches my bathing suit area. Just mixed a hard drum n bass track with it on the master bus just CRANKED and intentionally blown out. So cool. Software can't touch it.

My custom monitors are it. They are just a joy to listen to and work on.

Hardware: Boss CE-2W Chorus. I did not buy much new hardware this year compared to previous years, but I've always wanted a super lush analog chorus to play guitar and synth through.
It delivers in spades, with the catch that after spending a year playing through it, I tried the BX-Blue Chorus to a clean Rhodes track and found that the plug-in was virtually identical to the real deal in CE-2 mode. Props to Brainworks on that one.

I've only bought software this year. I finally got Waves Mercury as a license on sale (after almost 15 years of buying Waves plugins a few at a time it was just cheap to do). And I'm buying Newfangled Audio/Eventide's Elevate bundle today. We'll see how that does. I have high hopes.

Reviewing my 2022 purchases, there were a lot of plug-ins, but the few hardware purchases were my favorites;
Synergy SYN1 - modular preamp chassis, just used it for silently tracking guitar in the room with a live drummer and the cab emulated DI out worked great.
Stam SA76D+ - tracked most vocals through it this year, the tube stage switch is great for deciding if you want a different box tone or are actually after a different compression action altogether.
Updated quite a few plug-in bundles this year, Eventide Anthology XII, Sonnox Mix Bus Bundle HDX, iZotope MPS5 UE, UAD Spark, Arturia FX Collecton 3, Plugin Alliance's All bundle 2022, and you know... they're fine.

Some people collect baseball cards... I dig studios with nice amp collections, but found myself stacking the same amp on tracks not wanting to break a player's momentum. This lets me switch through 8 different preamp sounds while they're playing to find a nice blend.

My favorite purchases this year were the HCL Solution Opto comp and Affinity preamp I added. I also finished a few guitar builds, strat & tele, that I like very much.
I ended up going down the Liquidsonics reverbs rabbit hole and ended up with just about everything. Hard to pick a favorite, they are all very nice.

I too am voting for my SA76D+. — although I’m not happy that 5 months later an upgraded version was released with mix controls. This is the first hardware 76 that I’ve owned and am pretty well floored with the razor sharp focus that it brings to a track.

I got a pair of the first 1073EQs, before the MKII revision was released, then added an SA47 MKII, before the MKIII came out, now the SA76D+, shortly before the version with more features was released at a lower price. Welcome to the club!

I've been eyeballing the Synergy setup to get that Fryette Pittbull sound at a reasonable volume. My 50CL head needs a stadium to open up properly. I don't know if anything can get to the unholy roar of that thing, but I'd be willing to entertain a modest compromise. I had the Valvulator and should have kept it.

In order
1. Porter and Davies vibrating drum stool (tactile monitor) it's transformed my E. Drumming experience - really fantastic.
2. Big 2022 purchase - complete new Yamaha PA system with X32 and XR18 digital mixers for my band complete with 4 way Senny IEM system - not a studio thing but it's transformed my bands live sound.
3. Spitfire Audio Chamber Strings and Abbey Road 2 strings - stunning ITB strings.
4. Acoustic Samples VHorns and VSax brass libraries .... "I cannot beleive it's true" instant Phil Collins :-)
5. Hit Maker SDX .... more instant Phil Collins!
6. Cole Clark electro acoustic for live performances - only acoustic I've owned that came with a plek set-up, it really does plays like a dream.
.... and too many plugins. Especially reverb plugins. I'm addicted.

Update: 01. I just bought Blackhole (Reverb), and Newfangled Audio Elevate (Limiter) from Eventide just now. 02. I also bought the Softube Weiss Deess. 03. Waves Mercury+Studio Classics and the Abbey Road Collection (but I already owned most Waves plugins, so this just kind of gave me a free WUP and completed my collection thanks to a Cyber Monday sale). 04. I also bought this workstation on Black Friday from AZ Workstations LINK HERE.05. And my new computer parts I bought just got in, so I'll be upgrading the PC over the next few days. So far, the workstation is my favorite thing. I desperately needed a new desk.

In order 3. Spitfire Audio Chamber Strings and Abbey Road 2 strings - stunning ITB strings. Forgot about this but I also picked up Abbey Road 2 Strings earlier this year and agree it is stunning.

I have been looking for a new desk to try and get rid of some clutter. I have been eyeballing their products and also giving a hard look at Gear Hive since they are a sponsor here. How hard was it to assemble?

How hard was it to assemble? I'm building it right now! Not too bad so far, but it's definitely a two person job. Weighs about 190lbs.

How hard was it to assemble? OK so this is pretty easy to assemble. But you want at least two people to move it. Also, they resized it custom for my old Yamaha S90es keyboard which was really nice. I haven't looked at Gear Hive until you mentioned them but their stuff looks great too.
