Iron Age Audio LH95 EQ's. They open things up "super" naturally. Nice beef too.

SA70 clone and Ghost cables were the biggest hardware highlights, funny enough I end up using the SA70 on the bus more than a mic pre lately. Software was probably the dBpoweramp file converter (I haven't tested but my mastering engineer prefers it to Saracon and at $48 vs Saracon's $1k I'll trust him on that). The biggest hardware/software surprise was Slate VSX, incredibly handy.

An API 6 space lunchbox loaded with2 Purple Biz mic pre's, a Great River MP-500NV mic pre, and 2 Daking Comp 500 VCA compressors. I also bought a mid 70's Urie LA-4 compressor from an old friend of mine who never used it for $300.

i don‘t buy a lot of software - maybe just 1-2 plugins/year. but bought the softube british class A. one plus is it can be used without the softube console, just like a normal plugin. the gate is completely unusable but the limited eq and the comp are great for quickly massaging a track into shape. and the drive knob is the icing on the cake! so it speeds up my workflow and sounds good. i like it.

A number of the ML Audio amp sims are pretty great for what they do. I also like Black Salt Audio's Low Control.

Again, just the UA Volt 1. Which is a nice Series recommendation, for anyone starting out, who has humble needs.
And it came along with some cool Plugs... 1) The UADx LA2A "Collection". 2) UADx Pure Plate 3) Relab Essentials Reverb effects.
Plus it has the Vintage 610 style Button. Good stuff for me to experiment with and learn.
Did get the Soundtoys Little Radiator/Radiator Plugs too. Good occasional tonal options IMHO. Chris P.S. I love the free MJUCjr. Plug!

Top of the heap was a Chandler TG1. It's been parked on my drum rooms in Limit mode, on Recovery 1. Every spot on that Input knob is a different flavor of awesome.
Favorite DIY - AML 500-series Pultecs. A lovely pair of projects for a weekend.
Favorite Plugin - UAD Ocean Way Studios
Favorite Non-Sexy-but-Worth-Every-Penny Purchase - Latch Lake 2200

Favorite Hardware: Audioscape 76D Stam 1073MPA preamp Gretsch 6118 Anniversary (what a great guitar)
Favorite Plugins: Kirchhoff EQ
That's a really short list. I bought way too much last year and looking over some of it, I never even used half of it. Hope I can slow down this year, though I'm not off to a good start. :-)
