One thing to remember if using more than 1 mic, unless your using a matched pair ( and really even then to a minimal extent) you’re not really ever going to truly get them phase aligned. You’re simply aligning them at one freq or theoretically aligning the diaphragms. What this means is you’re getting a fair amount of comb filtering. Is this bad? Old school theory says any comb filtering is bad, but really if it works, it works.

I used to use a couple mics on a protractor: a 57 and an older Dragonfly. I've gotten away from two mics on a cab.
My more recent tendency (last 3-4 years) has been a single mic: Beyer M160. A 421 solo has worked pretty well at times.
If I want two tracks, I'll use a buffered splitter and employ a completely different amp.
I have been trying the Lauten LS 308 on guitar cab and harp cab. Working ok...I think I need to experiment more with the filters on them.
