Fuse F59 is the best Fender plugin. It’s a tweed.
I forgot about this one — it's actually pretty sweet. Much, much better than the UAD if you ask me.
Still kind of challenging to get a truly world-class clean tone, but that's not really the fault of any specific developer. IMO, cleans are the hardest kind of tone to get right with sims.
Also, I don't mean to shit on anyone who likes the UAD. Just my taste. We all hear things differently.

I had the Iridium and sold it. It had 3 sounds, but was a one trick pony to me since only the Vox style was useable, but even that never felt right in my hands.
I've got a Fender Bassbreaker amp that's pretty good, but I think I'm eventually gonna get a Supro Delta King 12. It's chimes at low volume and breaks up quickly. Great for recording without being too loud in general.
It would be really nice if there was one great guitar amp plug-in that was reasonable priced.

They all suck vs what you can buy native. Fuse F59 is the best Fender plugin. It’s a tweed. Mercurial Spark is the best Marshall style. Overloud best general purposes. Best distortion pedals are Fuse and the Cytomic the Scream. Best IRs are Ownhammer generally Best free irs are the studio nord Bremen ones Best? Well "best" as in not disgusting. They're all a bit artificial and Fuse can get dirty and Spark digital sheened and overloud have low mid weirdness. Softube Marshall is disgusting.

Reviving this thread. Doing some demos here cuz I need some placeholder guitar parts with clean, Fender-y tone. I was able to dial in the UAD '55 pretty quickly just by bringing the instrument volume all the way down to "barely audible" and then futzing with the microphones for a minute. Sounded pretty good to me but, man, one false move and it all goes to crappola, those digital "dials" are finicky.
I also tried bx_bassdude cuz I already have it and I use it for DI'd bass on occassion. I was able to get good tones out of it but it felt really "small" next to the UAD for lack of a better term. Nothing I could dial in seemed to change that, maybe that's the old IR's someone mentioned?
I'm gonna try the Fuse59 next but I sure wish the UAD just had longer throw on the knobs and it would be an easy buy.

I recently bought the Fender Tweed sim. Great sound! So I went further down the rabbit hole and bought the Marshall Silver Jubilee. Also great. But… What about some clean tones? The collection has a lot of metal amps but no classic Vox or Fender. Any UAD amp sim users out there have a favorite for clean tones, ala Fender Twin or AC30? the Fender tweed gets GREAT clean tones but like gravesnumber9 mentioned, you have to back the input down to almost nothing. Sometimes I have to mess with gain levels before and after it to get what I want. That plugin is excellent. I wish they had made the input with a wider range of sensitivity.

The Tweed Deluxe is a crunchy amp at most settings, unless you feed it low levels or turn the unused channel volume up really high at 11 or 12. Then the gain drops down and cleans up. If the UA model is accurate, then this volume interaction should be modeled and you can get scooped cleans out of a Tweed Deluxe. I know that the Fractal Audio and Helix models do this clean setting.
The Fuse F59 is cool for Tweed Bassman clean sounds, especially combined with the York Audio impulses of a 4x10 Bassman cab.
If any of you are into the workflow of amp capturing (Kemper, ToneX, Quad Cortex), I captured some of my Tweed Fender-ish amps for this open source VST plug-in called Neural Amp Modeler.
It’s a bit much to get into specifics above it NAM all at once, but here are some sounds of my captures with impulse responses that I made. There’s some clean stuff with single coils. My DIY Tweed Champ circuit head

Get the free Tonex (I think it’s free) you can only keep 10 downloaded 3rd party profiles in the free one and then you can’t change them, so pick wisely. In tonenet or whatever it’s called, look up “Amalgam”. He’s kindve like Michael Britt was to Kemper - the best profiles. There’s some really great sounding ones in there…Two Rocks, Dumbles, Matchless. You can download free profiles they put up just to show what they sound like. Otherwise, buy an Axefx and call it a day.

for UAD amp sims that aren't too distorted perhaps try the Friedman Buxom Betty? - it doesn't get very nasty until you push it hard I use the BB probably the most of theirs when I need a unison UAD guitar amp for tracking
I did not get on with their Fender 59 version it seemed difficult to dial in when I tried it (a long time ago) I have a Vibrolux sitting here so I don't reach for Fender sims too much on the computer go figure

If you want the Buxom Betty, then get the BX version from Plugin Alliance (cheaper and it's the same). It can do cleanish as long as you don't have too hot of a signal going in. But I like the "Bassdude" from BX/PA even better. I think I paid $20 or less for it and I like it for getting that Fender clean sound, or maybe with a little bite (it sounded closest to the the clean with just a little dirt I was getting from a real amp, which was actually an Egnater Rebel 20, when doing some surf rock guitars...). YMMV of course.

It's not Fletcher/Munson effect either because even with the Bassdude way louder it still feels "small" in comparison. And I like the Bassdude fwiw. I use it to punch up DI bass all the time.
