What the hell. So I tested this against my own tube screamer. It doesn't just nail the distortion it is also a lot cleaner in terms of noise. I don't heard any IMD over aliasing. Incredible

Incredible I picked it up as well, finally a useable “overdrive pedal” in the box! I’ve never had any success with others beyond the old old SansAmp for over the top nonsense

I think that's one of the ones I have and need to remember I bought it (I think on your recommendation)

I think the bottom is falling out of the VST market. Waves has another $19.99 sale going. The best they used to do was $29.99 2-for-1, once a year.

Lindell is doing all of their plugs for $20 each. I initially made a thread for it but after I looked at the offerings, I think a post will suffice.

(Lindell is a similar, more socially acceptable version of budget gear from what I can tell).

And I am wondering how different the Lindell Mu is to the UA. Iirc Benny G liked the Lindell? At $20 I may take the plunge.

I got the Lindell Mu and the Maag EQ4 (I already have the UAD DSP version but this is native...) and I had a "loyalty voucher", which also worked this time, so I got em both for ~ $16 (after tax).

Well, I took the plunge on the Lindell Mu. So much for making it through September without buying music gear.

In the race to the bottom, today Plugin Alliance is apparently hitting a new low with a shot clearly directed at UA and Waves. If you buy a 'bundle" of 4 plugins, they are $15/each (i.e. $60 for 4 plugins). It's not even Prime week or Black Friday. I expect we'll be at $9.99/plugin by the end of the year. Then next year, everything will be free, just like the music we all produce...

The 24-bit truncation in many Brainworx developed plugins (Bettermaker Passive Equalizer is the latest with this) is inexcusable. The Neold are cool and getting 4 for 60 is a good deal. So is the Pro Audio DSP DSM.
Where will the money come to update the plugins and fix bugs though? Plugin Alliance are horrible about fixing bugs in general. It usually takes YEARS.

I thought with the calendar turning over I would be deluged with emails for October sales. There were a couple, but maybe more to come. Or saving up for Black Friday.
Cheers, Geoff

I reported a "bug" where some of the plugin downloads were reporting version 0.0.0. I got a reply saying, yeah it's a known issue. Ok, so why not fix it, and when will you? They told me you can install it and it is the latest version and works fine. Yeah, but I won't install it if I can't tell what it is. Then I got a survey asking me how they did. Well pretty shitty! You told me something I already know, you did not resolve the problem, and didn't give me any timeframe on when I could expect it to be fixed. Of course I am not satisfied. What a joke. I'm glad it wasn't anything I really cared about.

My plug in alliance silver bullet bug was never fixed, so I stopped using SB: glad I bought it on sale.

IZotope has a new, “intelligent” reverb plug, I’m tempted to give the demo a shot, if for no other reason then to see if it can hear some of my weak spots in my Reverb EQ. Apparently it’s based on the same algorithms as Neoverb which means in turn that it’s based on Michael’s Exponential algos.
Update: not what I expected. I thought it would be more like SmartVerb where it gave a suggested static EQ curve (it might have suggested other minor settings, I can't remember), but this appears to be a combination of ducking and dynamic EQ mixed into a single slider called Unmask. There's a couple of envelope settings with that.
Beyond that, the only parts you have control over are wet/dry, time, pre-delay, and input filters. No early reflections or density or anything like that.
I'm torn because on one hand it feels like a one-trick pony, but on the other hand it got me a lush sound very quickly that arguably balanced better with the source than me doing it by ear.
