Check this out guys; is huge props for Soyuz IMO (not to mention Madison as well) It could have gotten thin in parts but doesn't ; it sounds great.
Cheers, Ross

So freaking good. Love my 017 Tube. Mine might actually be an 019…not sure there’s any difference before the name change.

That is super cool.
Though, getting this recording would be a cakewalk. The band plays great together. None of the 3 are playing very loud, and the song is dialed in. Plus, they're at Sound City. I assume it's the Helios that's there now, but I'm not sure when this was done.

Quite apart from the very cool performance, the mic shows grace in parts where other mics might get 'pinched' and thin sounding; it just sounds very natural even when she's right on it Certainly warrants serious looks from anybody looking to spend in the higher dollar camp. Cheers, Ross

She would sound great on anything. ❤️ More to the point! Some singers can be recorded with a paper cup and a piece of string :-) Great vocalist, reminds me of Joni Mitchell.

She sounds great. I'm sure the mic is wonderful, but many different mics could have been used. She has a great voice and great control.

Whoa this is cool. I’m so thankful she has eschewed the indie-pop-pixie accent and just sings with her (very cool) natural voice. She’s also playing really cool shit on that (baritone?) guitar. Kinda evokes Edie Brickell and Joni (the latter of which is an association I don’t make lightly, cause she’s a hero of mine). Vocal timbre also kinda reminds me of…don’t laugh…Amy Grant.

So freaking good. Love my 017 Tube. Mine might actually be an 019…not sure there’s any difference before the name change. The Tube version was always the 017. They used to call the FET version the “019”. It was confusing, so they just renamed the 019... The 017 FET.

Hell yeah. I love Madison Cunningham, definitely one of my favorite newer artists. The Soyuz sounds absolutely brilliant here. That whole record is friggin' awesome and IIRC, was recorded at Barefoot (Eric Valentine's old studio). Another favorite from the same record:

So freaking good. Love my 017 Tube. Mine might actually be an 019…not sure there’s any difference before the name change. Before the model number change, the 017 was the tube model, the 0-19 was FET. Now they're both 017. I have the 019. The 017 had a blue decal, the 019 was green.

She’s also playing really cool shit on that (baritone?) guitar. She mostly plays in standard tuning but tuned down to C.

I love the way she's effortlessly singing over the counter rhythm she's plays at times , kind of like singing and playing "day tripper" Cheers, Ross

They are the best value, classic sounding modern mic. I bought a pair of all of them I was so impressed. I haven’t heard a voice they sound bad on.

Just saw Madison tonight at the Haw River Ballroom. My god. She was unreal. She absolutely killed. As good as "Pin It Down" was in the video earlier in this thread, her live version tonight was twice as good. Really, really inspiring show.
Also, today was her birthday, I think? (Though Wikipedia says differently?)
And she wore all leather onstage, and the band was kickass. It was badass from beginning to end.

The video is excellent, wonderful capture.
The mike handled everything faultlessly, every dynamic and tone change: maybe I missed it but I don’t think I heard any sibilance either: just perfectly captured tone.
Impressive.

I don't have it to hand but she does another version of Pin it (youtbe it) in a radio studio with a female bass player and drummer who are very good particularly the drummer who has superb feel. Cheers, Ross

Have you listened to her much, I feel like shes been pretty dang solid vocally right out of the gate- Her song Life According to Raechel should be up for song of the year. Dang near perfect across the board IMO (performance, lyrics, sonics)- Very curious on what mic and signal chain. Vocals sound sweeeet.
