If anyone is interested, this company is down the hall from Soyuz and consulted Soyuz when they got started. Very under the radar. Nice people to work with also. Good communication, and answered lots of questions... I wonder if 'The Ball' would be a Soyuz competitor at under 1000 (MB is sometimes flexible on price)... Moscow made capsule, LOMO transformers and preamp... AEG-Moscow |

Mark of Microphone Boutique is really cool. I bought a couple of original transformers and tubes from him some years ago for my Lomo 19a13-inspired Barbaric mics. The tubes worked out great. The first set of transformers ended up having opens, so he sent me another set right away. Unfortunately, they sounded horrific. I didn’t bother sending back. I figure with cheap vintage, you win some, you loose some, and he was so cool and quick about the first messed-up set.
Mark was selling the NIKFI mics for a second and I really wanted to try one, but I’ve been so Barbaric focused for so many years. One day I reached out to Elation Microphones with the intent of finally picking up their KM-901 (after so many years of wanting to try it out), only to find out it’s currently not in production, because the same KM-901 developer has been developing NIKFI Microphones. So, I was offered a NIKFI through Elation. I said I’d just purchase one from Mark, as I didn’t want to step on any toes and he’s a good guy, but Elation said he was no longer selling them. I hope that was true for the time.
Anyhow, my point is, I’d really like to give Microphone Boutique more of my business. Hopefully I can make that happen in time.
I think all the current Russian mics are extremely cool!

Just came across this video today with Madison's new JHS signature pedal. JHS has at least one other video where they are hyping her because she used their chorus pedal... The signature is basically that modified to her settings, plus EQ controls.
Loved the jam they do at around the 12:20 mark.
