Just got the email announcement that I can reserve one for no money down out of the first, limited run batch. Let's see, H251...M49V...kidney, H251...M49V...kidney,... You can get by with just one 😁 You're obviously talking about kidneys because we all know it's impossible for sound engineers to get by with only one mic. |

This afternoon, I also received the email from Heiserman stating they are now taking reservations for the first batch of 251s.
I am working/saving toward design/purchase of a bespoke Pueblo mixer this year and won’t be able to reserve but I am fully confident the look, feel and sonics of this 251 will be like the Heiserman 47, in that they are so good it is hard to believe.

Maybe a year+ ago when asking about the H47 I asked them what mic Lucinda Williams might be using and they said that in fact the studio she was at had an early H251 in with her. Ok, cool! When can I get one? Not for a while probably but well let you know...and they did today! My main use/test be on tenor vocals. No idea when but "Limited first run soon". Looking forward to this beauty. I didn't see the earlier social media posts but this was in the email:

Hey all! We are shooting for around $5899 for the street price. And rest assured it is going to kill anything out there in terms of an accurate sounding 251. The new Heiserman HK12 is now 100% accurate down to the brass 1mm screws and brass secondary plates. We are very very proud of this mic. The custom wound transformer is 100% accurate recreation of the 1950s best sounding units. We are going to build the first batch and once completed will announce the availability. We expect these to go fast so we are already prepping for the next batch! The proto is actually being used on the next Kacey Musgraves album. The entire production team was floored by the sound. It’s absolutely beautiful, unfortunately out of my price range. I would love one too. All these high end mics are not cheap initial outlay but they do offer literally decades of pleasure and use, spread out over that time period they’re pretty great value for money. |
