It has M/S, which the UAD version does not. I know the hardware doesn't do that, but it always was disappointing that the UAD plugin costs what it does and they couldn't have included that capability. They added features to the Vari-Mu and VoxBox, so it isn't like they weren't thinking of useful additions.
The UAD version does sound good on bus duties. I could try this one, but I'm not sure I need to go there. I felt the same with their Vari-Mu.
If you're not a UAD2 user then I think it's worth adding to your collection. Both the comp and EQ are really clean and helpful.

Seems like the Pulsar is thicker/bigger on bottom than the UAD. Which is throwing me a little.

Yep, for Pulsar product owners, the deal is 59 Euros until June 26th
I got two emails from them at the same time, but both contained exactly the same coupon details, and they claim this is an exclusive deal, so perhaps we all get a different coupon.

I was inspired by all this "Pulsar madness" to pull out Mu for the first time in many moons, used it on mix bus, on an acoustic guitar track. Anyway it worked out great!
Also used the Echorec on every song on the punk EP I just finished mixing (10 months of what the hell is going on.)

I went back through my emails from Sweetwater and they didn’t even promote the sale, there was a line about welcoming Pulsar to their line up but no pricing. I think I stumbled across the sale because this thread prompted me to search for deals on their stuff. Also, not to belabor the point but Mu and Echorec were discounted similarly. |
