is the capsule a straight swap Tony? cheers Wiz Hey Wiz, Did you ever jump on this? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts since I know you use a U87 on your vocals. I had a Rode K2 with an Amperex Bugle Boy and I actually liked it especially as a drum room mic. Always said I would pick up another at some point. I would be more motivated with a capsule swap as Tony mentioned. tony - what's the cost and wait time for one of those TC c12 capsules anyway? |

Jealous, really have been wanting to dump the Neumanns and get a Manley Ref C. Don't be afraid of the CAD E100 and the TLM102

I think a little over $400 with the mount, i have 2 being sent tomrw for a pair of elam 251 clones. That K2 can be a real beast with the C12 and some other mods, i did some stuff to mine and put a mullard nos tube, it's really nice, i realized the other day, if i set the capsule just below my mouth line, it smooths the s's out perfectly, great mic! |

No but I badly want that slick pop sound and I'm seeing a lot of that stuff being done with the Ref. Still like the Neumanns though.

Well…. I decided on a mic… thanks to Shannon I found a Telefunken 250 !! Shannon is working on it over the next couple weeks and I know he's gonna knock it out of the park. I'll report back here when it's all "Mic Rehab'd"'  I sense much jealousy in the force tonight. |

It's killing me. BTW, can you do a side by side vocal with your 67 and 250 and let me hear that as well. I would love to hear the difference between your 2 killer mics. |

Me too, I'm not so familiar with the sound of the 251, but know the 67 a little, so this would be great fun.
