I used the Ref C today on a young female artist and it was spectacular. Captured all the air in her voice on this mid tempo. I could have eq'd the 67 to be brighter but the Ref C was the perfect modern sound for this pop country tune. Didn't sound harsh or sizzly at all this time.

is the capsule a straight swap Tony? cheers Wiz yes wiz, the capsule should be a straight swap, littlesicily i figured it'd be ok, but if you want me to pull this sample from your thread, forgive me and just let me know and i will. warren asked me to hear it so, hear it is 8) i used a vp28 no eq/compression, i'm really sorry about my Barry Manilow on estrogen therapy vox lol I REALLY hate my voice, but i've got to stop hiding from it.... i believe the sample will give you the gist of what the K2 mod is capable of, this is absolutely the wrong mic for my voice, i think it's better on female, or someone more controlled than myself, it's also very good on acoustic guitar. Had a few tunes mixed that i used the Ref C on. Yes, it's good. Yes, it's bright (in nice pop way). Sibilances were more prominent but dealt with. Not crazy about the subtle sizzle on top... others might love that, I don't prefer it.
My mix guy said I could borrow his whenever so I think I'll keep hunting and use his in the meantime.

I didn't much care for the Manley when I gave it a quick listen at the store. There's a shootout from RecordingHacks on you tube with two Manleys. I'll look for it tomorrow.
