This is the type of comp I like the tone of. It stays out of the way of the instrument and doesn't get soggy. I would love to hear what you guys think.

Sounded great for extreme compression. I also really liked the Charter Oak 538a when I heard it...especially for the price.

For some reason, their stuff seems to have avoided the hype parade (or maybe I just missed it). Gets mentioned here and there, but not this onslaught of stuff.

Hmm. Youtube strikes again.. I didn't hear much difference between the original and compressed version.. I know that you guys are all about the "transparent" compression and all that, but I didn't even hear the background noises coming up either.. It was like the original track was super compressed to begin with, and/or the compressed track wasn't compressed very much at all..
I did dig the tone of the guitar and the closeness of the mic sound. That was cool. I hate distant sounding acoustics.

Just sold it. Yeah Tony it just didn't have any of the compression characteristics I'm use to. It didn't put the "squeeze" on you know? It wasn't like fader rides either. Not much girth. Just kinna uneventful. I'm used to getting something out of a compressor so it just wasn't for me. It might be just what someone's looking for though. It's not a bad comp just not what I like. My CL 7802 is exactly what I like in a buss comp. I'll probably keep it forever. Goes to show that price doesn't always reflect quality because the 7802 is a very reasonable comp.
That said, the best sounding comp I think I ever used was a Neve Portico MBP. Some wow on that one but daaauuum, 4k.
