Hey Jeff - what are the dimensions approximately...? Just trying to get a gauge on how big it is...

With P&G's or the budget faders, it's 8 3/8" wide X 12 1/4" deep X 7 3/8" tall. The channels are a standard layout @ 1 1/2" wide. Fader panels are a typical 7" and the control section is 3 3/4". Scribble strip is 1".

Yes this is the overall concept but the new ones will be a little different. It's a very complicated part from an engineering standpoint.

Where is the 16x2 ACA Mixing Mixer?

Where is the 16x2 ACA Mixing Mixer? Please, NO!!! My wallet can't stand it! I step away for a day and RGO gets crazy with the bad-ass custom gear thing. It's all a bit too much for me to handle.

Can't be much more than where you're currently at. Even a pair of these could be used as an 8x2 l/r summing mixer I assume.

if this had an M/S matrix feature for my M/S mics in front of kit I'd shed tears of joy. big hole in what's available that can do MS matrix.

Well, before my trip down to Nashville with the 4x1's, I roughed in the cost on an Excel spreadsheet. I was in a bit of a rush but wanted a good idea of cost before I left. With being about 98% accurate, a complete 4x1 kit would come in just over $1k. That does not include faders since I was planning on 2 options, the P&G's (which I stock) and some budget BI's. Five P&G's would be $275 and the BI's would be around $30. On top of that would be a PSU. I did not figure pricing on the PSU kit but guestimate it to be around $250 (powers two 4x1's). That said, I feel the street cost of the mixer is a little too high so don't know if it will ever become a stock product for me. On another note, with the admiration that folks had for the signal path of the 4x1, I am of course knee deep in a different but related product that will do in some cases a little less than the 4x1 but in other ways, way more. Stay tuned.....

I really would like something like this.
Something that has 4 channels with faders, a master fader, great sound, and bucket loads of headroom.
Something I can use across my patch bay and it doesnt consume a great chunk of my desktop space.
Something I can sum multiple mics or tracks together, or use as a outboard bus to patch comps or EQs over.
I could use it as a line level attenuator for my outboard gear that runs quite hot into my RME interface which doesnt have great headroom.
I honestly don't mind paying 1500 for something like that.
I have often considered the SSL X desk, but its over twice that price here in Oz. Which at 3000 you are actually getting into pretty handy used console money.
I sat waiting and waiting and waiting for a sound craft delta to come along, that I was going to "jim williams" the hell out of, but it never came my way.
cheers
