For bays where the jacks are flush, you could easily design and 3-D print a 2- or 3-prong alignment tool that would line up the whole label strip. Everyone who has a patchbay has leads that fit. How about putting a lead plug through the first and last hole of the label sticker, using that to align and somehow starting the peel and fix process from there.? yes, this is actually a thought I had and will test once I've got the production machine. I figure you can put a connector through the first hole in the label and patch it, then while keeping the sticker off the faceplate, patch another connector through the label into the lower right most corner which would make for an easy line up! Will probably make a video or instructional download once I figure out the best method.

Funny how sometimes the obvious isn’t very obvious. Why do the easy thing when you can do the elegantly unnecessary thing?

Hey everyone. I am currently working on something I know most people find frustrating about 1/4" patch bays.... LABELS! or lack there of I should say. I'm working with Chris from Patchrat to make up templates for the most common models available. The plan is to have customizing tool on my new website where you can select the model patch bay you have, arrange your labels, change color, grouping, and other formatting features. Users would then be able to buy the label and we would print and cut out the sticker in house. I have a few proto-types done, I think they turned out pretty well. Let me know what you think! View AttachmentView AttachmentThe only suggestion I might offer is to consider a way to label the normalizing switch on the front of the Samson. Even if it's just a diagram off to the side of the three positions. Since the sticker covers the label in your current example. This looks fantastic, btw! Would love to get a couple of these. Many of us do have printers, though, and would appreciate the possibility of printing at home when we change up our patchbays. That may not be possible, though, with the tiny space tolerances on these bays.

There may end up being some room on the right side rack ear for a diagram. We covered them up because we figured the label real estate is probably more important. Thank you! The big issue we keep finding with the print at home option is 1. It will likely lead to way more emails and way more customer support trying to help people figure out their printer and why their margins arent lining up and things like that. 2. Most people don't have a clean elegant way to cut out 48 perfect holes without messing the label up. In all honestly, we likely won't offer a print at home option, because in the long run people will spend more time trying to make it work at home than if its just ordered and arrives cut and ready to stick on.

Simple single letter normaling code?

You sir are doing gods work. Let me know when they’re available. I have two Samson S-Patches That need labels I'm waiting on this dang plotter cutter so I can actually get them made in a timely fashion. Essentially a CNC machine for cutting paper. hoping to be able to make these available this year! I'll try to post updates on here, but I'm a lot more active on instagram. @trace_Audio_Official I thought you got a new plotter last year?

Has anybody got a good printable template for Switchcraft 9625s? I do. I can .pdf it to you. Or better yet as a Word/Office file. That's how I manage mine.

Can you make it so the labels cover up the Behringer, ART, and Hosa logos on my patchbays? I'm only half kidding.
This is a great idea. I'm hankering for a patchbay rewiring in my studio, I'd love to pick some of these up.

Received the plotter cutter yesterday! Working out a few bugs, but so far it does exactly as expected. Will post a few pictures and a video once its firing. Last piece to fall into place is the website designer!

DBX bay turned out great! Will be running Neutrik, Samson, and Behringer next. Will be figuring out TT bays very soon on thick, non adhesive paper.
