seawell I just came across that Locke fellow in my stable of news sites. Evidently, he is rather more popular than we realized: dude has (according to baptistnews.com) over 2.2M followers on facebook and tens of millions of views around social media sites, making his 100k twitter numbers look kinda measly by comparison. Anywho, seems he's been a bit of a web-based firebrand (and a favorite of evangelist righties) for about five years, ever since he had a viral video about Target's bathroom policy. So, not exactly just a 'small town minister', after all. Plus, he's got an amusingly-checkered past. That sort of explains CNN's fascination with him, to some degree. Anywho, just thought this might be of interest. I’m well aware of him 😁. I just contend if they were interested in working towards good, productive messaging for the nation, there are MUCH better examples they could highlight. That kind of reporting isn’t good for business though 🤣

Politics aside, that is an absolutely terrible song 🤣 Gonna edit my comment...trying to keep a lid on my own snark. A better way to put it is that I didn't find it to be moving in writing, performance or production.

Ill tell you how it sits with me, as I generally feel less gov is better…it’s total bullshit. Judges should not be prescribing medicine. My whole stance on Covid is that it should be evidence based medicine, and the politics should be kept out. That’s true whether I agree with the med practices or not.

Apparently a doctor prescribed and the hospital refused. This seems to be more about protecting the decisions made between doctors and patients than anything else. The patient's wife brought this to the court and got the decision she'd hoped for. Seems appropriate for the court to be involved in a situation like this.

If this is as it appears, I agree that it's absolutely wrong. I'm totally ok with employers mandating vaccinations and testing, totally ok with mandating vaccinations for healthcare and public employees, but totally not ok with separating children from parents.

I don't know how it normally works with a patient at a hospital and an outside doctor writing prescriptions for a patient under their care. It seems to me like there's a question of liability.

That was my thought too. As for the custody thing: gross. Clearly this outcome is not a better situation for the welfare of the kid. 🤦🏻♂️

You have to be credentialed and hold privileges at any given hospital to admit or take care of patients in that facility. My understanding from what's been available in the media is that the wife found someone to write an order who is not part of the hospital staff - so the hospital staff appropriately refused to provide that medication. If so, the judge's order violated multiple state laws/statutes governing medical practice.

Looks like the judge reversed his own decision and the mother can reunite with the kid.

Or a vet, oh yeah that would be illegal! I’ll bet the hospital filed an appeal and wins. Because I already see some guy in the ER and some family member finds a internet cure for a stroke at some point nobody wants to go there. I haven’t read to much other than about the ruling why not just take the guy home against medical advice and treat him if this is what you want? A hospital is not Burger King you don’t get it your way, I mean I rolled in well done nobody said I’d like him chared.
