I felt the same way about it that I did about Clearmountain’s domain. It is interesting to see their presets but the quality of the reverbs in particular isn’t too impressive. If you haven’t already been sending delays to reverbs then it may be a real game changer for you but if that is something you were already doing then it may not be something you need. Using something like Valhalla delay into Seventh Heaven or Relab reverb will give you a much better sound in my opinion.

The reverbs sound good, they are supposedly the full chain of CLA. Like, the 480 plate sounds like it's already EQed, the Room Verb is a combination of 2 gears, and so on.
The routing is great if you are sending only one source, or multiple sources that need the exact same kind of FX. But overall making 4 verbs and 4 delays tracks would be much more flexible.
But yeah, it does sounds great to my ears, and the blend possibilities makes it very interesting in certain situations.

No but it's supposed to be epic. I prefer legendary, or are they Chasing the sound of Epic records? If so I prefer Atlantic.

Specifically, it's intended to be used for mutiple sources into one FX chain. That's the way it's done for blanket reverbs that provide "glue". And which is something that a lot of younger mixers, raised in the age of plugins, don't always get.

I got the free version and immediately tried it on some guitars and vocals and it sounded great. I bought the paid version for $29. Have been trying on an old mix. I like it a lot. The way I have been using it is on all my buss channels. lead Vox buss, drum buss, I have one on the snare track or snare buss. All guitars to a buss etc. It really does more to my ears than just reverb and delay. It does something to glue it all together but almost like it also goes through an eq as well. There is more under the hood for sure. I don’t really buy many plug ins from waves. I am not a fan of their wup but this plug in is really good. Cla was talking how he made the plug in to go on channels and busses not sends. It is cpu heavy so you can’t put it on every channel but on busses is where I’ve been using it on.
He is trying to recreate his work flow in a plug in. I think they did a good job. To set up your daw to do what he does with his board would be a serious pain. Go checkout his videos on waves.com.

I was really impressed with the free one, but haven't tried the big one yet. If it's 4X mo' betta' I'm sure it's worth $29.

I didn't even know this existed. I have that EchoSphere plug and it's pretty damn cool. This must be pretty rad.

I watched the demo, is this intended to be used as an insert or as an effects bus? Kind of seems like it takes the place of an effects bus and you just drop it in as an insert.

I finally demoed this because I don’t always get cohesive results from rolling my own verbs on drums, and sometimes I need a “drop it on as a starting point that’s good enough to keep” sound, similar to the older CLA Drums and Bass plugs for dry sounds. (Their verbs have never been flexible enough for me given that the options are on/off and an amount slider.)
I love it so far. There are times when I want something deep and tweakable and other times I just want something that works. This just works, especially for that cavern deep snare sound. I even like it on kick.

I bought it along with H Delay and Sibilance for silly cheap.
It’s been on everything since.

Yeah I’ll often put Drum Room 3 on Drumbus and pull down to like 12%. Adds some dimension.

Hadn’t really thought about using it on solo guitar…but it’s great with just using the two cla presets.

Just looked at it for 10 seconds, it looks like so many controls to manipulate and I prefer simple and straightforward.
I don't use Slate's plugs anymore , even though I have a few, including the godawful mastering compressor he promised to update 7 years ago. Are there presets that sound good already?
So do you put it on a lead vocal track separately, or on the 2 bus?
