jcoutu1 I'll try to post up that thread later tonight, i have to go pound the pavement and make some $ as of now, but we'll get some good discussions in on how to deal with our spaces, fortunately we are all connected by the same rules of physics, which is a good thing, it puts us all in the same boat so to speak...

Any pics yet? I've been thinking about this for the last few days... see the first post, it would seem that folks are slightly less than enthusiastic about the project lol, i'm not in a big hurry, so we'll let this ride a little longer. I still haven't wrapped up my rolling rigs, they are ever so close(see below), but when they're done, i'm personally moving on to my next diffusors, so at that time anyone who wants one of these is gonna have to commit. Once this particular QRD ship leaves port, it ain't EVER coming back lol

Hey tonycamphd, what tools do I need to do this on my own? If I can get wood that's actually square from home depot (like you found with the cedar), all I really need is a chop saw to cut to length right?

The neighbor kids came by last night, and were checking them out, "cool! what do they do?" they were saying, I said sing into them or yell into to them, they did and were saying "wow sounds so cool", that was fun, nice to see that even they could hear what they do, they especially liked the name "Gobots"( gobo/robots) 8)

If I can get wood that's actually square from home depot (like you found with the cedar), all I really need is a chop saw to cut to length right? A chopsaw/ mitre saw electic, some earplugs, I would set up a depth jig for repeatability, you don't have to, but for me I used my table belt sander to smooth off the edges. It really is pretty easy if you have the right tools. and your last thought before every single cut should be, "am I physically clear?"!!

Hey guys Built a bunch of these over the years and found a bandsaw to be the best tool for the job! What Tony is doing is a boring repetitive, dirty Job so if He's stupid enough to do it for you at this even stupider low price Take the man up on it before he realizes how nuts he is!
Tony one trick I learned years ago if you have to assemble a bunch of these is to build an inverse jig ! So you might want offer the parts if people are buying a bunch!
So guys take him up on these or if your as dumb as me make your own and see why RPG charges what they do!

General starter rules of thumb for room treatment: 1. 50% absorptive surfaces, 50% reflective surfaces. 2. Absorptive should face reflective always. 3. Diffusive surfaces can be substituted for either, but rooms sound better if diffusive surfaces face absorptive surfaces.

Tony, did you give up on this? Your thread about the Green Glue got me to dig out my book by Alton Everest, " Sound Studio Construction On A Budget". He really sings praises for products from RPG Diffuser Systems throughout his book, and a lot/most of his designs incorporate those products. Lots of informational reading there.

Yeah, that ship has sailed, there just wasn't enough interest, and I've already passed the time period where all my eqipment was staged up to make it easier for me (kitchen remodel/cabinet build), though even in that regard, it would have still been crazy time consuming! That price I put up was silly low, and in no way reflects a real world income, it was for all intents and purposes an offer of help and a give away.... its still TOTALLY worth doing on ur own.

Well, thanks for the attempt. I still want to try one on my own. Can you direct us to an appropriate site with the plans? What do the numbers on the layout represent? How does someone know what length to cut the pieces and where they are supposed to go on the grid? Thanks
