You need that nice warm glow of a tube. I bet the glow and warmth is better than the Warm WA251 that I have now (pun intended). It’s like going from the burner on a gas stove to a nice crackling wood fire, without the smell of pine. I know kind of sappy

Subtle, but yes not going to try and say U47 or M49, it’s neither but this is entry into the big league mics.

the million dollar question...... Ahh. I can be a little slow on the uptake. Well, I value your opinion so how about a free answer to the $M?

The Neumann UM57, which was George Neumann's follow-up to the U47, debuting in 1957 (hence the number) from the Gefell factory. Find a good one and you will find it's in between a U47 (M7) and a U67 in sound capture. Mine is from 1959, the mic experts believe, and it's a beautiful thing!! but I'd still like to also have a UM92.1 a 990 and all the other Neumann-Gefell microphones! I only have 4.

You don’t have a problem as long as you have more fingers and toes. Witch for me kinda sucks.

Ok. The mic had been powered up for maybe 45 mins or so when I did this. All the guitar parts are my Hummingbird and recorded in omni. The vocal is cardiod. Straight into a daking mic pre with the HP set about 70 or 75. I am playing sloppy and not great as a singer. That said, I am fucking stoked about this mic!! drive.google.com/file/d/1jjnSxlzczwU3VCMe0hp_rLxPw07KUOKe/view?usp=drivesdkETA: this song clip is the first verse of one of mine called Once in A While.

gwlee7 Sounds great my friend! The Gefell gives a great vocal capture for sure. Also really love the guitars here... I may need to check out a Hummingbird sometime!

This is one of the new 1960 reissues. Much thinner finish and a lighter build than the stock. It’s great guitar. ETA: Nothing says pro like a sideways picture. Lol
