Chuck said that too! Yes, when he was describing the sound of the EV 635a Ouch! But Unlike Chuck I can pound a nail with the head of 635a without brain damage!

Chuck said that too! Yes, when he was describing the sound of the EV 635a Well at least we found two uses for a dead cat-ahem-635a... On loud flautists. And for the Pound. BTW I used to teach dogs Tai Chi in the park. As evening got dark, we'd sometimes get surrounded by hoardes of wolves. (That means "many" Eric-or like a vast mic collection "cough cough" ) We had to cut back on our class time, to thin the herd. Now we're down to just 2 packs a day. Chris

It's a good mic and your voice sound great on it.

Thanks for the kind words skav. (Eric and Ward are good sports on my vocals-of course ) OMG! That video is hilarious. It reminds me to catch up with Gregory. Brilliant guy IMHO Been a long Pre-Pandemic NAMM time. Hmm... I wonder how he'd feel about a Spoof Comedy Episode sometime together? I hope I don't get any gift packages mixed up. Cool... Shure 58 for Ward. EV 635a for Drumsound. Uncool?... 58 for Drumsound. 635a for Ward. LOL! Chris

ev635a lacks detail. Good on rooms, shriekers, and cymbal bashers. Always have a few on you.

Shriekers? Even one is too many.

Are the 635a being sold today different from the older?

AKGs and Beyers are as common here as your EV mics on your continent. Every now and then somebody has them, mostly guys that bought mics in the 80s. I never see anybody here using their newer ones. In my world, the M88 and the M201 are a bit opposites - the M88 has a fat proximity effect, the M201 is more lean and has (diaphragm and coil with less mass) a bit more detail on softer, trebly things... the membrane is as fast as that of a MD441. Of course they are all usable for many things :-) I like you choice of songs, chessparov! And my younger daughter (16) is into Queen, as many of her age group. They just don't care from which era or in group a band was. The elder daughter (20) is into Metallica, but just the first few albums.

I'm actually in awe of the late/great Mike Smith and his DC5 vocals. Fine keyboard player too. Freddie was pretty good also. And also singing. LOL!
