I prob will too. Gonna take a few hundred bucks but I think it will be worth it? I hate subs, but I admit the Slate one is right on that price point line where I consider just hanging on to it. I grabbed the Plugin Alliance one. I generally prefer their plugs and the Ampeg V4 is worth the admission alone. And honestly, if the Slate plugs could be used individually instead of in VMR, I might be more inclined to use them. Just not a fan of the VMR workflow.

Not to forget to mention Klanghelms DC8C2 which covers a lot of compression... This thing is a beast of software compressor and can hold its own against some hardware compressors. I remember a mastering session where we have chosen DC8C over some expensive hardware Only downside is the extra harmonics thing, it does not sound good to my ears.

Make sure you cancel ASAP, if you're planning too. I thought I had another week because I signed up around black Friday, but got charged last night. Guess I'm in for another year.

Does Slate still put their single perpetual plugin license's on Black Friday sales,.. or not so much and its all about steering people into the annual subscription model these days for them ?

Pretty sure they mostly push their Everything bundle. His drum and Virtual Mic plug-ins do go on sale though, as they are not included in the everything bundle.

If you want out I bet you could email them and say it auto-renewed without you intending to. I just turned off my auto-renew in Gobbler a couple weeks ago, realizing the same was about to happen to me. Hope you can get out of it (if you want to that is).

Verbsuite Classics if it goes on sale. I thought it sounded good on Vinnie's last Video. But of course the musician in me would prefer a sale price!

Can't hurt. If much rather put the money towards the WUP for my Waves plugs. Off topic, but anyone have a recommendation for an Rbass alternative? Severely missing it right now.

But if Iridium works out... I want TH-U no matter what. My idea is to track with Iridium and take a DI so I can choose Iridium, TH-U or re-amp when mix time comes.

I too need help quitting Slate bundle. I’ve realized that the only things I use is the “Custom EQ”, a hybrid plug which is really good for broad strokes.
Can anyone recommend a ITB EQ that just sounds good even when a hack like me is using it?

I really like the sound and the functionality of it. Cheaper than FabFilter and many think is sounds a bit better too. But, if you need dynamic EQ included, then I'd probably go with FabFilter.

They made the Custom Shop EQ pretty unique in that the Q changes over frequency ranges...AND amounts (like a proportional EQ)...so, there's nothing it can do that most decent EQs can't...but, you DO have to adjust the Q. So, basically--if your ears are at the level where you don't hear what they're doing that way, no--nothing else will get you those results. If you ARE...that CS EQ is just saving you some time to dial in. Which ain't nothing. I wish they'd kept going in that direction. But, missing the point touchscreens and mic modeling was where they went, so...out, I was.
I've moved to really just using the Harrison 32c EQ for most non buss (or mastering) chores. Didn't plan that...but, I was really hard on plug ins with blind testing...and yeah--most of them simply don't sound as good. Since they gave us the "mastering EQ"--I'll see if that can't replace the MusEQ Mastering on busses for me.

I cancelled my membership a few mo hrs ago after realizing I wasn’t using them. I’m one of those who REALLY disliked the workflow of VMR. rarely do I want to chain multiple slate plugs so I would have vastly preferred Isolated plugs.
Haven’t missed them.

That Custom Series EQ is good. Once I’m out of the sub, I’d grab a second hand license of that if it came up at a good price. It’s bundled with Lift and I really like that too.

All the bands in the custom EQ are different, and have different modeled output stages aswell. The Harrison 32c, is that the UAD one?

Well, I found my way out of the bundle and some of it is pretty stupid on my part. You get sucked in with the pitch of so many plugins when in reality, a good handful is all you need for a record. Here is what my escape hatch was. It enables me to quit Slate, avoid any WUP from Waves and not rent the SSL Native bundle or anything else - no monthly spend.
1) Bought repeater to replace the H-Delay which was a mainstay for me 2) Buying 7th Heaven Pro to replace Relab rental. Will use along with Softube TSAR-1 3) Did testing and chose my existing Console 1 SSL for channel processing - better bottom end and ergonomics than other emulations. 4) Did testing and am happy with perpetual VBC Red 3 comp on master buss. Also tried SSL Native, VBC SSL, Waves API 2500. The SSL is more open but the Red 3 has better low end glue than all. My ME has no problem providing openness in my my mixes. 5) Will use perpetual VTM and VCC for vibe 6) Will use Antelope compressors and EQs on money channels like lead Vox and on busses
Hope you find your solution, jcoutu1

I'm out too. My Slate thing expires in a few weeks and I'm more than ready for it.
I don't like renting stuff.

@r2 (Rob/Ragan) glad that worked out for you both I have never Sub’d at all. Rob one suggestion, if you have a chance to demo the Audioscape ssl box for your 2 bus: try it !

Harrison mix bus is on sale now pretty cheap. This is a DAW, right? You cannot use the EQ for instance in another DAW?
