Is it a keeper? I see a ton of these on Reverb already. Aren’t most of the ones on Reverb from people trying to flip them for a few extra bucks though? My local shop had them new for $399 just last week. And, that’s street. I can talk them down from there. Maybe. Some have been sold for less. One went a few hours ago for 220!

Weird. The only ones I see/have seen are for $50-$100 over new price. The usual thing where something is back ordered and a handful of early recipients are trying to make a buck.

I woulda snagged it if I had seen it, but I’m sure it lasted all of about 3 seconds. The description said something like “I’ve had this for a couple months, long enough to know that it won’t be replacing my amps, mics and pres”.

This guy makes some killer videos using the Iridium. It's dangerous for me to watch.

Both sound really good. A sounds more finished. B sounds brighter and louder, but just like it's EQ'd very different than A.
Not really sure the point of the back and forth because it's nit picking unless something is just glaringly wrong with how the tool works. If you like how the thing sounds, then workflow is the next decider. These both sound good enough to place in a mix.

I liked A better but more importantly, Petty styled music is much more indicative of the types of things I write and the kinds of guitar tones I like. Your examples really make me think the Iridium something I would like having.

Thanks for checking them out.

I prefer A, but both are good. DM me with the info on what we're hearing.

I also liked A better, just listening on computer though. B sounded a little "thinner" to me.

B for me, especially when the centre guitar track comes in, there is more separation. Cheers Wiz I couldnt help but think I was listening to guitar tracks from "The last DJ" Album....

Yeah that sounds great. Wish I could play as tasty and in time as you. I started listening to the original...I guess they sped it up a little ala the Beatles? Pitch is up a little. Also - I swear that’s a Fender and not a Vox. At least the main one... Are these the Fender or the Vox?
Is there any confirmation on what he used?

I have the TH-U and Iridium both. (As well as a few vintage tube amps)
The Iridium has been a work horse. Really great.
The TH-U has saved my *** a few times on parts that were recorded on great tube amps, by really great guitarists who aren't necessarily great engineers....

A: Strymon Iridium B: Overloud TH-U Which overloud pack? I’m out of town but the Tele on the right is a profile in the Rig Player, I’m pretty sure it’s a Princeton. I think from the Vintage Library. The 335 on the left is the AC30 model within TH-U (not using the rig player) but with an Ownhammer cab IR. The center 335 lead is also that Vox but with a different Ownhammer cab. For what it’s worth, I kind of prefer B (TH-U) as well, I just made that right side Tele a bit too bright in the TH-U clip. I like the Iridium too, quite a bit. I just like the image separation of TH-U. And TH-U can easily be made to sound like the Iridium. Not vice versa. But that’s part of what’s cool about the Iridium too. A handful of good options. Not a million things to dig through. I think the Iridium is an amazing tracking tool. No latency, independent of DAW buffer, no native processing hit. And super fun to play through. Then I still have the DI signal if I want to use TH-U or re-amp. I’m happy with the Iridium purchase.

I don’t know what they used but it sounds like something like a Princeton on the right and an AC— on the left. And yeah, it’s a weird pitch.

Maybe worth noting too that I didn’t try to match the two. I just went for the best sounds I could get on each, and then came back with fresh ears to compare the results. Just cause I wanted to judge the results I get out of using either one without trying to copy anything. If that makes any sense.

Are these Vox’s or fenders? In both TH-U and Iridium clips it’s Fender on the right and Vox on the left. Vox on center lead too.
