I have the 864u. Lots of character. It’s different from any other plug in I have & is great on vocals & bass in particular.

Some really nice tools at VERY reasonable prices. I believe the guy behind Fuse worked for or co founded Black Rooster Audio.

Thread necromancy but these plugs are some potential secret weapons. Any tips for using the varimus? The solid state Telefunkens are fabulous.

I have the W2395c. It's really a great sounding plugin. I should try more of these.

Yeah Eric. Some of these are game changers based off of unobtanium gear. And they’re only 40-70 bucks each. You can’t even buy the hardware. The TAB class A BJT 373 and 376, The 562A tube pa amp, and 688 channel strip emulations are great problem solvers. They solve problems for you.
The 2C just makes most things slightly better like the Neold V76U73. It does not solve significant problems unless you need major tube overdrive on something but the 562 gets grittier in a cooler way. I haven’t found a use for the varimus other than color boxes, nukes, and glue yet. Haven’t tried the eqs. Ymmv. Watch out for the VCL LA4 Emulation. Heavy aliasing when nuking things and cranking the makeup gain. Sounds good for slight glue.
The Neold rules too. Best Plugin Alliance “console” so far. Just wait for Black Friday if you’re cheap or unemployed but definitely buy it.

VPRE-2C and VCL-25A are half off until tomorrow. 2C is awesome and VCL is a cool leveler. Pick them up if you want some more cool things in your life. I know I will use the 2C and bought the 25A just to have it because it's Fuse. I know I will find one thing it can better than any other plugin. I just haven't found it yet.

indiehouse trying to keep it in one thread Everything but the VCL-4 is the most useful and best itb optical compressor. If you can find where the other ones excel, they’re great too but have more specific uses. Think of them as UAD meets Sound Toys but much better done than either to the point where you can trim and stack the emulated pres on everything and the buildup is great.. No aliasing, no UAD mud, no distorted high end plastic digital sheen, no static “modeling“ of circuits like Brainworx and Kush. These are component modeled. No dumbass plasticizing parallel crushing like Decapitator. These will piss off modern sheeny pop types. Even the VCL-4 is slightly dark. These aren’t Slate or UAD house sound ish for modern tastes. They aren’t hyper colored either. These are plugs for people who genuinely believe popular music started sounding worse after about 1980 and awesome cool things that work as advertised even if their utility is limited to a few tasks. Vpres 2c is an RCA BA2C emulation. tube goodness but clear. It breaks up the best of the vpres. Nice and clear and woody transformery low end. Awesome and modern sine wave bass purists will hate it. Good. 31a is cool. Haven’t used it yet in a mix. 376 is u376 emulation. Nice class a push and breaks up into a nice grit. Don’t clip input, post drive, or output. Just don’t clip it like a YouTube talking heads producing unlistenable records. 562 is middy tubes. It has its uses. Fixes things scooped by dumbasses. VCLs VCL-4 is the most useful. Awesome. Modeled after a recreated LA-4 with modern components. 373 is c4 hidden in a German cassette rack. 515 is cool. Deck it, have it barely moving, or pumpy fun. 25 is a slight betterizer/leveler or an oscillating monster. The Federal is nice smack enhancer and clean tone. Modeled after a diy recreation. EQs VQA-154 is a must buy. The VQP is less useful but still useful. The free RS-W2395C kicks the crap out of the Plugin Alliance and UAD Dangerous BAX EQ. TCS-68 is really good. Very cool sweepable API EQ. Nice 80s to early 90s color. Color is better than every SSL plug at sounding like that era of opamp based equipment with the tape off. The cassette on is cool and rather hifi. Think perfectly aligned cassette head and working DBX noise reduction. This isn’t your cassette player this is a model of something you can’t even get the tape for anymore. You might need this sound. Flywheel is #2 to U-he Satin for me. Good stuff though. Better than Magnetite and Waves VPB bundle is great. Bucket 500 is great and sounds more like a bucket brigade pedal than Colour Copy, which is much more flexible. The Fender amp and Drumsssx I don’t own yet but you might need them. If Ray makes a Marshall, I’ll never use any other guitar plugs but Cytomic The Scream again.

Seconded on VQA-154 and VCL-4 for sure. They’re excellent. I’m really, really liking the 154 on vocals and acoustic guitar.

Literally gave the 515 a test drive and my yaw stood open for a while. Sounds big and massive and stays wide and open at the same time. Another one who is impressive for a plug in this year....

So happy I discovered these as well. Got the free eq first. It’s incredible. Sounds just as good as my old rjr bax used to sound. Bought the vpre and vqp bundle this weekend. Excellent stuff. I’m hesitant to buy more as I already have soooo many freaking plugins, but those were the ones that stood out to me on demo. I could use a nice vari mu, so that might be next!

The tube preamp sim is WOW.
Clean as water can be but nice in its own way..... Seems I buy this one too....
In general all his preamp sims beat the Slate stuff with ease.

Which one? The VPRE-562A or the VPRE-2C?

So, you were talking about the 2C, right? I have that one, and it's good. I haven't tried the 562A. Nick seems to like it, so I may give it a go these days. Cheers.

I didn't demo all of them....Just heard that one, and loved what it was doing so I grabbed it. Gotta say, that free bax eq is pretty special too. The other Passive eq's that they make (can't think of the model) are incredible. Kinda like a Pultec but much smoother across the range. Love it on bass so far. Actually the combo of the preamp and the eq is killer.
