Thanks, but the question was about how to inject the signal. That's the first thing I need to know before I can either hook up the o scope or signal trace. I just don't want to hook it up incorrectly for fear of damaging something.
It's a clone using mnats rev h board, The guy I bought it from said it passes signl fine but that the gain reduction ciruit isn't working.
My plan, again, is to begin by checking a known waveform against one passing through the unit.

i bought someone else's 1176 project and want to probe it a bit.
i have a signal generator and a dual trace oscilloscope. if i want to use the signal generator to feed signal to the circuit i use a bnc cable with two leads, a ground and a hot(i think). Which goes where on my 1176 input? i assume ground to ground.
My plan is to use the dual trace feature to compare virgin signal to that which I'm sending through the 1176.

I've found it necessary considering how much recording gear i've acquired over the years. I simply can't afford to visit a tech everytime something stops working correctly. It's better for me if I have the capability to repair my gear in-house.

I'm only referring to UI, something apple was traditionally good at

I've been an apple user for more than a decade. I'm unimpressed by the new music app. Spotify did it better. So much more intuitive. That was once apple's domain (making their prodcuts an intuitive experience for new users)

I'm in the same boat. I really like the ios app Metronomics. Wish I had something similar for protools 11.

What's funny is that they made their name by being the cheaper solution to hifi. Now, they are just another one of the boys. Not so special anymore.

I want to sum 3 line level signals into a single line level signal. I do not want to buy a mixer for this if i can avoid it. the idea is to send 3 live vocals into guitar pedals and an amp

Yeah, I can get my ipad to see it via the downloadable discovery app, but it's also supposed to work by entering the ip addy of the interface directly into any webbrowser. That's what I'm trying to figure out. I want my friends to be able and control their own headphone mixes so I can focus on the rock

I get the impression that I can do it without connecting the interface directly to my router. For me, not a solution since these devices exist on opposite ends(and levels) of my house. i was under the impression I could connect ethernet cable from 16a to computer and use the computer like a router. Probably have to setup a new network?
From motu's 16A website:
Web app control Control on-board DSP, mixing, device settings, and network audio routing from web app software running in your favorite browser on a laptop, tablet or smart phone connected by wire or Wi-Fi to your local area network.
Stand-alone mixing with wireless control Connect an Apple Airportâ„¢ or other Wi-Fi router directly to the 16A with a standard Ethernet cable and control the 16A's powerful mixing and DSP effects from your smart phone or tablet, without a computer. Great for live sound mixing.

Ok, so my ethernet cable is connecting directly to my computer. According to the motu manual this should work. What am I misunderstanding?

Hello again guys.
I'm now all hooked up. Got my 16a connected to my computer via thunderbolt for tracking and network cable for wifi webapp access. I can access the webapp on my ipad via the downloadable app, but I'm also supposed to be able to access the thing via ip address. That's what I can't yet get to work. I pressed the ID button, copied down the ip address and entered it into my ipad. It won't work. I cannot seem to find info on the motu site regarding this and thgt I'd come here before getting on the phone with motu,

I expect receive my 16a today or tomorrow and after reading the manual, the setup still seems a bit confusing.
i want to use it as an interface and the onboard mixer for individual headphone mixes.
i guess the routing matrix is what gets me.
Hoping someone here can offer a little guidance.

I called sweetwater after perfectcircle audio accepted my offer for $1275 and sweetwater matched it. Can't wait to replace my digi 002. That thing has been buggin out lately.
