I’m not in John’s league, but on a good day, I feel my vocals justify my Crane Song HEDD 192 Well, what I feel and what my bank account says seem to be two different things… Welcome to the club !

I was just thinking about that drumsound. This model seems have quite a long leg extension forward. Mine are on their stands, its really only a couple of inches of depth. Why would you need to mount on wall, then you need bracket: another expense ?

The mi has hdmi out so that drives the monitor. It also has tb3 out so that connects to your apollo X. It also has usb outs which can be used fir external drives. I run my m1 like this olus a second monitor: usb to hdmi converter i think. So, I doubt you’ll have a problem. I run a 32 and a 27 inch monitor. i think you will like the 32!

If anybody is interested, a 16 channel version available locally, asking 8$ grand Cdn. “ This one pains me to list, but my workflow has changed and it's time to let it go. This is a beautiful Swiss made Studer “Model 962" 16 channel console from the mid/late 80s. Designed as a portable high end console for remote classical recording, zero corners were cut. It's a tank and was built to last. Everything from the the transformer based mic preamps, the open sounding master section, the 3 band EQ with baxandall based hi and lo bands, built in compressor/limiter on the master out.... make this a truly high end piece of gear. Studer 962 consoles came in a variety of different configurations, but this one with its 16 mic preamp/ line in channels is the most desirable. There are some scuffs here and there (mostly on the chassis and meter bridge) as this was taken out on many recording dates by the previous owner, but overall the channel strips are in good cosmetic condition. One fader is a bit wiggly from side to side, but still funtions perfectly. Overall everything functions as it should. Comes with 8 bantam to XLR insert cables for tapping into the outputs of 8 of the mic preamps. Not interested in trades. Local pickup in Ottawa only. Thanks for looking!”

Martin, if you're talking the stock SD3 library, the problem (as I see it) is that it already has such cavernous room sounds baked in (unless you tweak the envelope of individual drums, which is possible but a drag to do). Some of the expansions have smaller, drier rooms, though. I like some of the sounds Massenburg got on the stock library, but that room is almost comical at times. Re: Sound City, I don't think anyone on RGO has yet said they liked doing the re-mic thing with it. Everyone seems to be using it in reverb mode. Couldn't agree more about the SD rooms...really in just about every expansion too. Entirely too much room baked in. I need to try some more stuff with Slate SSD5. I played around with it the other day after updating and I was really impressed. I had SD and sold it, stuck with SSD 5.5 (stock) and logic drummer.

The main thing is the apollo mid range push/emphasis which the symphony won’t have.
Remember though the Symphony mkii vs mki has improved conversion and da and you had mine for a short while.
Do you recall, preferring it to your apollo ?

Lots of back and forth about this and current service delays
I reached out to UA and experienced a delayed response, missing the cut off of the previous sale.
I explained to UA that with all the changes, I had purchased the wrong bundle and asked if that could be fixed after the fact and at the sale prices, as I am not responsible for service delays.
UA agreed, and quickly made everything right.
So, still not a fan of bots or delays, but UA CS is prepared to make the right decision and offer some flexibility.

Do you know what made me invest in a Thermionic Swift tube EQ for my stereo mix bus. My shitty Mackie 1402 monitor desk. I have all the usual suspect EQ plug-ins some cost me $200 + Then one day when I was tracking (I use my 1402 as a way of getting true zero latency headphone cues when tracking) I decided to EQ the overall mix with the 3 band EQ on the little Mackie board. (For mixing I use a Crane Song Avocet so any mix EQ would of been a digital EQ in Cubase) Well …. the tone and action I got out of that cheap little analog three band EQ on the 1402 had more vibe than any of my “plugin” EQ’s. I just thought sh*t what the heck …. I was a bit taken a back to be honest. At that point I researched a hardware EQ (and compressor) for my stereo mix bus and bought the Thermionic Swift. I’m my humble opinion I don’t care how powerful computers get - there is NEVER ever going to be something processing 0 and 1’s that’s going to sound like a tube hardware stereo EQ. Period. All the wishing in the world isn’t going to make it happen! Analog doesn’t just rule here - it’s the final point of delivery to your ears - those paper cones in your monitors vibrate to analog current and make mechanical sound waves that hit your ear drums. Analog is reality for me and the more of it the better. My goal is to get rid of as many digital sound sources as possible. Back to real drums, real piano, real organ, real synths. Move air - move people. I use digital but boy of boy I hate the sound of it - more and more everyday I have to use it! I find every digital eq sounds so lame, nothing like the first time you used your first real eq and thought, wow, this is like magic !

But, if the gear was preexisting, is it truly new: aren’t you just being humane by rehoming it, providing shelter, purpose and power: god, you so selfless !

Other thsn incenting people into subscription, there’s been no apparent rational to what plugs are ported, when. UA hasn’t provided any guidance on its selection criteria, so sheer speculation as to what’s next?
