Not there but I don’t think you are hearing things.
Sold my b2 a long time ago and my 2192, I personally thought the b2 sounded like shades of chocolate and mo chocolate, tasty snd appealing at first but later not so much, so I sold it.
Peeps can debate where bla is at now, but it certainly has expertise in conversion, clocking and design.
I thought that was the whole point of the Rev, excellent linear sounds, low cost. I’ve actually wanted to try one.
You’ve set your system up in a way that works for you but there’s a lot going on in terms of gear and signal flow. i think all your comparisons are valid as I believe you have typically only switched out one box.
I just track with my ob into my Aurora and am only using headphones, so much simpler set up then yours.
If you have sone cans you trust, why not try listening to just the Rev da and hearing just that output, then decide ?

2nd one states, it’s an rca cable: xlr to rca, so should just be passing analog I think ?

Sub works perfectly, if you want minimum monthly costs and ignore the cumulative costs and UA’s increasingly lowered purchase prices. Recently, Signature bundke ( all uadX plugs), was on sale for under $300 or half price, you’ll be cost there in 2.5 years with the benefit of whatever new plugs are added and no plugs at the end of each month , unless you continue to subscribe. UA is also discounting its crossgrade/upgrades, so in 2.5 years, there will likely be a low cost option like sub $100, for Signature owners to gain whatever new plugs have been ported to uadX, if you care. I bought Signature due to the above and it’s recent additions of Sound city and Capital comp which would have cost at least $99, so it’s like you got the rest of sub plugs for less than $200. Worked for me. But what happens when Sound City and Capital Comp aren't go-to's anymore because either UAD or DMG/Fabilter have a better mouse trap. It's happened to me far too many times. Look at Neural Amps - they are so far ahead of other amp sims as to make any previous purchase worthless imho. I think the main point is, if you're apply to stick with digital tools then it works buying them. If you want to remain on the cutting edge own or lease makes no difference. I sat down with an XL spread sheet and added up all the software I've bough in the last 20 years VS all the software I still actually use and is still relevant here today. The figures proved in effect I've been paying one very big long winded subscription - imho ownership of something transient as software is an illusion unless you disconnect you machine from the internet and stay away from forums, mags and advertising :-) I accept, everyone's reality and situation is different but for my main software packages I'm not against subscription. I pay in effect a sub for Cubase as I upgrade at the release of every new version - whether they charged once a month sub or a one off purchase it's the same money .... even if I tell myself it isn't. That said, if software reaches a point it's never going to improve then yeah - I get it - one time purchase trumps subs. But as I have a silly number of plugins, DAW's, VI's, Sample sets that are worthless to me because their so outmoded and suppressed then their purchase was in effect a licence lease. I fully understand your point of view - it's just my XL sheet and the numbers tell a different story to my bank account. Hardware of course .... always buy I remember, remember too, I sold all my UA stuff, put close to $2000 usd back in my pocket and now bought back the native plugs I want for roughly a tenth of that. I see the future a little differently, I’m thinking I won’t care about ongoing sonic improvements or certainly not enough to spend any significant amount on more plug ins. Like you, if I was dropping any serious coin, it would only be on hardware:OB, mikes, pres, comps, maybe mastering converters , if I had a great room and the dough atc25’s. I am just not a fan of subs: ymmv !

I just bought Capitol Comp and Sound City. Don’t know if I’ll really use SC, but oh well. This allows me to cancel spark. I signed up to Spark a few months ago for $10 a month so I don't have to buy anymore UAD plugins! I've too many UAD plugins in my plugin in folder I payed many $100's for that I now never use because they got outdated by never ending plugin advancement. $10 just buys a coffee and a bag of crisps in my part of the world, so at this point it really feels like I'm free UAD plugins as they keep adding new ones to Spark. Plus I've discovered I can pause the subscription if I'm having a few months of writing/arranging/gigging and not mixing. Seems a win -win and the way forward. Then "boom" I go and read your post and wonder if my thinking is faulty Sub works perfectly, if you want minimum monthly costs and ignore the cumulative costs and UA’s increasingly lowered purchase prices. Recently, Signature bundke ( all uadX plugs), was on sale for under $300 or half price, you’ll be cost there in 2.5 years with the benefit of whatever new plugs are added and no plugs at the end of each month , unless you continue to subscribe. But, if you wanted to track with UA plugs, you needed apollo and on board dsp. I don’t really track with plugins much so it’s never been a feature for me. It’s the way things will be done increasingly in the future, of course. However, I think it’ll just be done natively. Me neither, so I understand the uad2 lack of allure. I mostly just record myself so have a simple but good on chsin: stam 67 or diy c12(I’d like a stem 800g), Daking 2 channel pre, stam 76 adf and am planning on adding a stam 2a soonish. I prefer ob for capture, plugs just in the mix.

Its so strange. I am pretty much an exclusive uad plug user with a few other like arturia and some others, a sparse plug user but none the less. Now they seem to have these sales just as all the other companies, some plugs seem to be on foreversale like waves, and due to that i have began moving away from the company i feel to some extent. I like and use every uad plug i have, but jumping on the train of the somewhat cheap plug market makes the company loose the “spark” 😜 in my eyes sorry to say. Rather than sales, never drop the price but invest in upgrading the already great existing products and make money on that would be my cup of tea. I understand long time users feeling this way, but the truth is UAD plugins are not overall any better than others that regularly sell for their sale prices. The market has changed a lot since they started out, and they have to adapt to keep relevant. Waves and McDSP have done the same thing. I’m basically in the opposite camp. I’ve always scoffed at the hardware dongles and high prices until they sucked me in with the Native plugs and sales. But, if you wanted to track with UA plugs, you needed apollo and on board dsp.

Eventide SP2016 is the best. Direct port of the Princeton Digital 2016, one of the last great hardware reverbs ever made along with the Bricasti. It’s probably my favorite reverb plugin even though I use Megaverb more because the lofi genre guys love the Midiverbs and Quadraverbs. It sounds so much better than Valhalla and Cinematic Rooms and comes way closer to that dark 80s movie dialogue tone than the Relab, UAD, and Lexicon Native Lexicon ersatz. Great sound and a great user interface. Sp2016: a go to !

Correct. But, as opposed to subscription, you keep using it for as long (years) as you want. Of course, based on how fast things change with compatibility, third party plugs & serious upgrades, it's not as long as it used to be but still worth it. Same with Waves. But the but is, all your current software and os will likely work fine for years, so don’t upgrade anything until you absolutely have too say os and daw incompatibilit.

“A second hand Manley Mastering Varimu/Thermionic Phoenix Mastering Compressor + Audioscape/Stam SSL. Or Neve MBC. Then later on get an eq with broad curves.” Not arguing, but with the addition of the new vari mu module, the silver bullet mkii, plus an ssl clone comp, is a good option plus you have its pres? Nice! Is the SB vari mu module a high voltage (350v) design? Can it replace the solid state mojo amps? Or is it a Vari-mu comp? I thought the pre-amps sounded good as mic pre's but personally I didn't like the sound of them producing hair for a mix (not my cup of tea) perhaps this vari-mu module can cover that element in hand with the VCA comp unit. If I ever retire from owning a full sized rig and want something small and compact to keep putting some music out there then I do think the SB is a great little unit. SB + those extra modules RME UFX III ATC 25's Perfect little project studio rig. Don’t know, ask the designers: was more thinking about the op’s stated budget and options.

I understand, but I was talking about asking prices on typically used sites not retail.
On my local Kijiji site, the only low prices are gear with obvious problems, everything else, to me, seems way overpriced
Sign of the times , I guess.

Is it just me or does it seem to you too that used prices have climbed significantly over the last few years?
Most of what I see here in Canada, is like 20-30% higher than seems reasonable to me?

Do you want to just store or store and play?
Storing, you just need sufficient space and can set what ever fike system you want? If you bought sone iCloud space, you could duplicate the master folder and drag to your iCloud Drive and save there: so two versions.

If you can get it cheaply, I would.

Ah, they are both reverbs, then everything else is different ! The reverbs differ as they are different spaces and you can tweak them very differently. Personally, as SC is different , I’d turn your argument on its head and ask yourself, why shouldn’t you buy SC and at 2/99, it’s very good value
